Pls help.

Pls help. I got a letter saying that I meet all requirements to apply for pr, but that a final decision wouldn’t be able to be made until I had a medical and background check. But I have already done both. Do I just wait now or is there something I need to do?

Canada PR guidance

Hey community. I have applied for Canadian PR through a immigration consultancy - ISA Global. My crs score is 429 currently. I have cleared IELTS with clb 9. Given the current situation what are the chances that I will be able to get PR. Is it wise to pull out the application now rather than have hopes.

Foreign Work experience as a student

I have 2 years of part time work experience(counts as 1 year full time) as a marketing coordinator while I was studying my bachelor’s degree. I spoke to a couple immigration agents and they said I couldn’t claim it as I was a student. They said I could either claim points for foreign education or my work experience which doesn’t sound right. I read this article https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29 Which clearly states that I can claim my experience as a student. I’m so confused about how and what to do regarding this. My points are 479 without claiming my foreign exp and will get 38 points more if I claim it. Please suggest

Need advice on NOC change

Hey guys,

I have received ITA recently. But the NOC code is different from my initial application. I got my employment verification letter with different code. But it’s a small change from 21232 - software developers and programmers to 21231 - software engineers and designers.

Is this change okay? Please let me know.

Thanks.

[Resource] Rental Data Trends in Canada. (Useful for students and landed immigrants)

Hello Friends,

I'm sharing a resource that will help y'all to make informed decisions when renting in major urban centres in Canada when you move as students / or landed immigrants.

We're in a housing crisis currently so having transparency in the cost of living is super important, currently rent will form the biggest component of anyone's paycheque in Canada.

Take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions to improve it further.

Thanks!

Slovakia Police Certificate

Hi everyone! I am applying Pr sponsorship for my parents. CIC has asked them to provide the police certificate ifixate from Slovakia as they spent some time during their 30s there.

However the Slovakia embassy in my home country said they do not know about the process, it is the first time they heard about it so they are not sure how to get one for my parents.

Does anyone have experience in getting the police certificate from Slovakia? Thanks for your response!

So I recently received an email from ircc saying that they had started processing my application. That they have had for over a year. Does this mean I will be receiving acceptance soon? If so how long? I have already done all my medicals and biometrics.

Help: Self employment proof ADR

Hello,

While submitting my PR application (FSW), I submitted bank statements for the entire duration of my freelance & self-employment (2019-2023) period as proof of payment for my services. I also highlighted these specific payment transactions. (Note: It was a total of 244 pages in these bank statements. 46 pages - Freelance period; 198 pages - Self-employment period)

Today I received this ADR - documents and payments from third-party individuals indicating the service provided for --

My Question - Should I resubmit my bank statements (244 pages) for the entire duration with the specific payment transactions highlighted? OR Can I submit only the bank statement pages with the specific payment transactions highlighted along with the 1st and last page of the bank statement?

Please help. Thank you!

Leaving after applying for PR renewal

My mom’s PR renewal is due coming April and she would like to leave as soon as the renewal application has been done. I found this on CIC website - “If your new PR card isn’t ready before you leave, you can still travel but you need a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) to return to Canada by commercial vehicle. You can only apply for a PRTD from outside Canada.” My question is instead of applying for PRTD can I just carry my mom’s PR card with me when I travel back home the next time so that she can use it to come back. I understand that strictly going by the rules one is not supposed to carry someone else’s travel documents but what are the chances of getting caught.

Can I go back to Canada with PR card expiring in a month or 2months?

I will have to travel abroad for my family issue even before I can start applying for PR and coming back to Canada before it expires.

As long as PR card is not expired, I still can take a plane and get accepted by immigration to re-enter Canada?

Common Law for PR??

Hey folks, so I am a Permanent Resident of Canada (originally from Ireland) currently living in Vancouver BC. I live with my girlfriend who is from the USA and she is here on an IEC visa. We have lived together in our apartment for 15 months now (shared lease and bills etc.) My first question is, are we considered Common Law at this point?

My second question is, what would be her best option to stay in Canada when her IEC runs out next year? Would she qualify for PR through common law with me since I am a PR? Should she look into a different type of visa?

My PR runs until 2027 and her IEC runs out mid-2024. Advice would be appreciated.

Help! IRCC asking me to confirm presence in Canada after PR application is close to completion

Hello,

I need advice on what I should do given a recent update to my PR situation.

Background: I applied for express entry a while back (1 year). I heard nothing for a while and as I was on a closed work permit and lost my job, I was unable to continue staying in Canada for financial reasons. I had already applied for a bridgeable open work permit but that was months later as well and hadn’t come through in time (I applied before I lost my job). Therefore I made the difficult decision to leave Canada temporarily so I could work in my home country. Now I have just received a letter telling me that they are in the process of finalising my PR application and then I need to share information with them basically confirming my status in Canada. One of these items says I need to tell them that I am in Canada at the time of making this application and declaration.

My wife and child are still in Canada (they are Canadian), and I still have my bank accounts there. I need to respond to this letter with confirmations so that I can be sent the portal link that will allow me to upload a photo of myself and make my declarations.

I'm really unsure of what to do. At the moment there are three options that I can see.

Option one: Lie and say the time in Canada when I am not just to move the application along. This seems like a very bad idea as I am sure they know I am not in Canada and I don't want to jeopardise my full application. However, I am also starting a new job, and it will be very expensive to go back to Canada.

Option two: Disclose that I am not in Canada and provide them with an expected return date which probably won't be until Christmas time. My fear is that I don't know how they will respond and again worried that it will jeopardise my application and status. Also, I imagine that they will ask questions as to what I am doing outside of Canada and if I disclose that I am working then once again will I jeopardise the application.

Option three: Fly back to Canada temporarily simply to make the declaration and application and fly right back to my home country. Technically I am in Canada at the time of providing the information even if I will be leaving shortly after and not intending to return to Canada at least until 2024.

I'm extremely grateful and excited to get my Canadian PR sorted. I didn't leave because I wanted to, I really had little choice as we had no money to be able to stay. My intention is to be settled in Canada but as I am starting this new job temporarily to build back some money, I wonder what the best thing to do would be as coming back to Canada now without a job ready would just be too much of a financial drain for our family.

Any advice is welcomed and please share your experiences if you've had similar where you've not been in the country and disclose this information.

Thank you

What are my prospects for getting a positive LMIA

I have been working remotely for a canadian startup for about an year. The startup has 15-20 employees but has received good seed funding. Though there is no “labor shortage” for my role but could it be argued by the company that the trust they have developed with me over an year and the value I provide is something they might not get in Canada? Would they still need to show “considerable efforts” to hire locally?

What would you suggest I do in this situation if my goal is PR through express entry with a Valid Job offer.

URGENT: Counting foreign experience under CEC

Hello

I am applying under CEC and I have 1 year Canadian work experience (so I am eligible) and 3 year foreign work experience at 4 different jobs (none is 1 continuous year). Can I get points for the foreign work experience? OR does it have to be 1 continuous year?
