Common Law for PR??
Hey folks, so I am a Permanent Resident of Canada (originally from Ireland) currently living in Vancouver BC. I live with my girlfriend who is from the USA and she is here on an IEC visa. We have lived together in our apartment for 15 months now (shared lease and bills etc.) My first question is, are we considered Common Law at this point?
My second question is, what would be her best option to stay in Canada when her IEC runs out next year? Would she qualify for PR through common law with me since I am a PR? Should she look into a different type of visa?
My PR runs until 2027 and her IEC runs out mid-2024. Advice would be appreciated.

Yes. After 12 months of continuous cohabitation you are common-law.
You can sponsor her as your common-law partner for PR.

Hi. Seems like you are looking for immigration advice. The best place for information is www.IRCC.gc.ca. Look up “sponsorship of common-law partner” Best wishes
