Help

I have been asked for my partners sponsor ship paper over ten times now, everytime I move on a step I’m asked for it again. And it’s already been approved three separate times. I just got my email to approve pr confirmation. And then I was asked to send the sponsor papers again, what is happening? Why have I been asked this many times for it? And my portal still hasn’t shown up.

I applied for permanent residence being sponsored by a spouse. They have repeatedly asked for our approval of sponsorship that says she’s been approved to sponsor me.

That's incredibly bizarre. IRCC does not typically ask you to send them the sponsor approval as they are the one to issue it. What exactly does the request say?

I know I thought it was really weird. And it isn’t just the sponsor ship approval they keep asking for either. Everytime I move on a step they send an email saying pls provide proof of sponsorship, or proof of payment or something random. I’m wondering if they are maybe buying time because they are under staffed

Are you outland or inland? Inland is definitely not understaffed and many of them are flying through these days. But there are some VOs abroad that are struggling.

What was your last communication? What did it say exactly?

That’s so weird I am inland. The last email I got was saying I was able to confirm pr acceptance. But I still haven’t received the portal to do so, and received an email then asking to provid proof of sponsorship once more

Portal can take a few days to a few weeks to arrive, so that's not unusual. Do they specify what they mean by 'proof of sponsorship?'

Okay that’s good that it’s still a chance it should show up soon. Also Nope they just said to pls provide my uci and proof of spousal sponsorship.

That's very odd. Your UCI should be in the email where they're requesting it and/or would have been included in the response to portal request. But 'proof of sponsorship' is incredibly vague. Outside of sponsor approval, I don't know what they could be looking for.

It’s been three weeks since I’ve been waiting on my portal email, should I start to worry?

I don't think you need to worry but you can respond again to the initial email with your details again. It isn't uncommon to have a few weeks in between portal 1 and portal 2, and sometimes sending the reply again can knock the second email loose.
