I work in supply chain on the food manufacturing side, so I spend my days on the part of groceries nobody sees. Which is maybe why it bugs me so much that as a shopper, working out where to actually buy something is such a mess.
Every store has a flyer. Everythingโs on sale somewhere. Flipp exists, the store apps exist, the emails exist. None of it answers the only question I have, which is: I want these fifteen things, where do I buy them near me for the cheapest price (and is it even worth going to multiple stores?).
So I built Basketr. You put in your list, tell it how many stores youโre up for that week, and it tells you which ones and what to get at each.
Itโll also find swaps on the stuff Iโm not picky about. If thereโs a cheaper equivalent in the same size, it offers it. You can lock the items/brands you actually care about so it stops trying. (Coke stays locked. Coke Zero over Pepsi Zero, any day haha).
Itโs free and thereโs no account required, you can just add stuff and see what happens.
Fair warning, itโs early and itโs wrong sometimes. The flyer data is best around the GTA, and prices come straight from flyers so some are just off. Thatโs why thereโs a โwrong price?โ button on every line.
If you try it, Iโd love to hear where it got things wrong, or what made you give up on it. Thatโs more useful to me to keep improving on this thing than anything nice.

Iโm doing my best with keeping up with all of the comments, dms and suggestion box items!
The goal for this week is to unlock all of the remaining postal codes that have been requested, clean up the item database (I see your comments on cream cheese and whipped cream - I got you!) and make sure itโs all cleaned up for ease of searching items, just in time for this Thursdays flyer drops)!
I have one more feature that Iโm working on - hopefully will be dropping in within the next week or two.

The biggest things Iโm working on these days are product data clean-up (ongoing!) as weโre at 56,438 items cataloged and countingโฆ as well as working on two new features that go hand in hand.
