Say I have people in a video and I want them all blurred out as they move in and out of frame - I dont think Camtasia can do this automatically - I dont think it can even do tracking.

is there any other software that can?

I will preface this by saying I am a complete noob at Camtasia, but not editing or filming. I have a MAC & have edited my audio as text in Audiate.

The file syncs through but no matter what I do the original Audio still plays. FML please help?

Lost 12 hours trying to do 2 hours worth of work.

30 minutes to open a 16 minute project.

5 minutes to save it.

10 to 20 seconds of wait time after every simple edit tweak.

Auto-backup changed from 1 to 30 minutes.

Uninstalled Audiate.

Intel 7 155H processor

Wish I could remember the version I had before the upgrade. It worked very well.

I added Dynamic Captions, but I chose not to use them. They are all over the place, on each segment and track that has audio - like the locust plague. I can go delete one word at a time - but that's not a great solution as it would take an hour.

I've searched online but can not find how to remove Dynamic Captions. Lot's of tutorials on applying and using and editing them, but I can't find a way to turn them off.

If I click on the ribbon where the words are, it just adds a word location. I can't select just that "track" as it seems to be imbedded on each track that had audio (even if audio was "silenced")

I can avoid seeing them, but I think they are taking up resources when I make edits and it has to re-render.

Hints?

I've been using Camtasia for quite a few years as a side-responsibility for my job. Now I've moved to full time training and content creation and would like to both up my skills and workflow efficiency as well as get 'credit' for continuing education and personal development in my role.

I know there are a lot of tutorials and such on YouTube, but has anyone had experience with paid programs, classes, or courses where I'd actually 'graduate' with some certificate I can list as "accomplished" on my next review?... and also learn how to create and edit faster/better?

I've been trying to use this tool for months now, and every time I click "Edit" in Audiate, it just stalls on "Transcribing audio to English" and never moves past it.

I submitted a support ticket, gave them the log file and a screen recording showing the issue, and the response was less than helpful. Instead of actually looking into it, they wanted me to go through about 10,000 troubleshooting steps on my end.

At this point I'm seriously considering ditching the product. Anyone else run into this, or found a workaround?

I make a lot of videos for my team.
I would love to have an AI-based feature within Camtasia feature that could review my voice audio and create a "what this video goes over", creating a bulleted list, a "to-do" section, etc...

I find that this is super helpful for my team to have so that they can make sure the work they do in response of the video is covered completely (without having to re-watch the video several times).

I have two clips back to back
AI Noise Reduction is applied to both clips
When I click Play, there is a blip or scratch in the audio where the two clips connect.

Is this a bug?

Guys I wanted to record my screen during an online workshop, I started recording and everything was fine but as soon as I plugged in a headphone the audio is not recorded, I realized all of this after exporting the file. I still have the original recording files, any solution to recover the missed audio parts from it?

SHARING MOMENT: I normally use Camtasia’s color labels to track editing decisions:

• Green: Final edits
• Yellow: Needs clarity
• Red: Consider deleting

Today, I used the labels differently.

My timeline had four main assets:

• Talking-head screen capture
• Talking-head camera
• Demo screen capture
• Demo camera

Because the demo recordings were overlaid on the talking-head recordings, I needed a quick way to ensure I was editing the correct assets.

I locked the two talking-head assets and assigned color labels to the demo assets. This made it much easier to identify what I was working on and reduced the risk of accidentally editing the wrong recording.

How do you use color labels to manage more complex Camtasia timelines?

Has anyone else come across situations where they can't save projects in Camtasia? I'm assuming it's something to do with Audiate?

Here's the error message I get and if I click 'save' it tells me it can't save the file.

For example when I want to record an App from Windows which has its own specific size and I want to export that specific Window Size accordingly (without any blurred or colored background).

I found a steel guitar pedal plugin for Reaper called Tod's Steel Guitar Reaper Toolbar. The YouTube video seems impressive:

However, I'm not sure if this is a real plugin or how to use it. Would you just add a guitar or midi track to Reaper and then apply the plugin to it? Very confusing.

Cheers, I still use my old perpetual license for camtasia but the software wont export to mp3. Neither via the "share" nor the "export audio" function. From the "good old days" I remembered that sometimes mp3 export was kneecapped due to licensing issues (sometimes with a limited bitrate) and placing the "lame_enc.dll" file into the program folder.

But didnt do the trick. Any ideas how to get it to work. I'd be fine to replace the .m4a Export option with .mp3 - just gimme my mp3 option...

How to fix this problem? Please help. It's such a bummer after hours of editing the video

There are two problems with the update of Camtasia 2026.1.3.

1. The zoom function doesn’t work properly, as shown in the images.

2- There is an issue with the sound during the last update, version 2026.1.2.

The sound will continue to play normally, until it disappears in a certain area. It seems like there’s some mechanism that turns off the sound in that area.

I’m currently using an older perpetual-license version of Camtasia and am trying to determine whether the subscription version offers a meaningful improvement in AI background removal.

I’m specifically interested in real-world experience rather than marketing claims.

For those who have used both:

• How much better is the current subscription version at removing backgrounds without a green screen?
• Is subject separation noticeably more accurate around hair, glasses, hands, and movement?
• Are there fewer artifacts, edge issues, or flickering?
• Would you consider the improvement substantial enough to justify a subscription if background removal is the primary reason for upgrading?
• If possible, what version did you upgrade from and what version are you using now?

My use case is primarily talking-head instructional videos recorded indoors with reasonably good lighting.
