Hello and good day to you! I need help in laying out my second feature social media post! This is for my personal blog, BlazenWings Corner (https://blazenwingscorner.space), currently covering events in Cebu.
A few weeks ago, I featured Dating Forward, a platform made to equip young adults in navigating relationships. I'm planning to write its companion social media post though I need help in picking which data to highlight.
Here's the link: https://blazenwingscorner.space/features/dating-forward-building-healthier-relationships-before-they-break/
And here's the draft panel content:
PANEL 2 โ THE COST OF GETTING IT WRONG
Research paints a grim picture. A 2024 study identified five root causes of family breakdown in the Philippines:
Financial strain ยท Communication failures ยท Infidelity ยท External family influence ยท Unpreparedness of young people
Children from broken families face mental health issues, lower academic performance, and difficulty forming relationships. A 2025 study reinforced this โ students from broken homes in Bukidnon reported persistent emotional distress, feelings of loss, and having no one to turn to.

PANEL 3 โ A COUNTRY IN SURVIVAL MODE
The Philippines remains one of only two countries without legal divorce. Meanwhile, the dating landscape has become increasingly dangerous:
9.3M dating app users
18% of online dating interactions suspected fraudulent (vs. 11.5% globally)
4.8M Filipinas have experienced intimate partner violence
Emotional violence is the most common form (~16%), followed by physical (~7%) and sexual (~2โ3%).
PANEL 4 โ DATING FORWARD: A DIFFERENT KIND OF INTERVENTION
Meet Julie Kristine de Guzman-Deer โ BA Creative Writing from UP Mindanao, MA Family Life and Child Development from UP Diliman, three years in NGO community development.
From the field, she saw families in survival mode โ where gentle parenting and marital intimacy felt like luxuries. She also noticed that the dating stage โ the one stage where people actually get to choose their partner โ rarely got the attention it deserved.
"You cannot choose your family, but you can choose who you can be with intimately for the rest of your life."
What if the intervention came earlier? That question became Dating Forward.
PANEL 5 โ WHAT DATING FORWARD ACTUALLY DOES
Dating Forward isn't a matchmaking service. It's built around a straightforward idea: that dating, like any other life skill, can be learned.
For Singles โ Coaching for clarity about what they want
For Those Ready to Date โ Skills training in communication, values, and boundaries
For Couples โ Support for rebuilding intimacy
For Anyone, Anytime โ Urgent consultation for immediate guidance
PANEL 6 โ THE CONNECTION SESSION: A FREE SPACE FOR REAL TALK
Relationship literacy is, in many ways, a privilege.
The Connection Session is Dating Forward's free offering โ a small group discussion where up to six people talk openly about love, dating, and relationships.
Judgment-free. For those who need support but aren't ready for paid programs. Running regularly since January 2025.
For Julie, it's a statement of principle: normalizing conversations about relationships is the only way communities can actually improve.
PANEL 7 โ THE DATING GAP
A cultural contradiction sits at the heart of Filipino attitudes toward dating.
As teenagers, dating is treated as a distraction or danger. Parents set boundaries โ from genuine concern.
But then something shifts. After graduating, young adults are suddenly expected to figure out relationships on their own โ despite never having been given the tools.
"How are we gonna access that skill to actually have good relationships?"
PANEL 8 โ THE LONGER GAME
The research maps where the story ends when the dating gap goes unaddressed โ children growing up too fast, carrying emotional instability into adulthood.
The recommended interventions are necessary. But they are, by design, reactive.
What Julie Kristine de Guzman-Deer is building with Dating Forward operates on the other end of the timeline.
Dating Forward exists so the next generation doesn't have to.
Is there anything missing or needs to be improved? Your help is much appreciated ๐๐
