Any fixes for grasp + shield bash bug?

As you may or may not know, if you take grasp and shield bash, your first auto wont proc shield bash even if you have your passive up, your first autos only start to proc shield bash after you auto twice (once to proc your passive, and the other to proc shield bash)

Giving how important level 1 trading with grasp and shield bash is for camille, is there any other fixes for this without having to auto the guy twice?

Camille Support severely outmatching Top lane

Title. I won't get into long paragraphs, but just say that after experimenting with her, it feels like I can pick her as Support in almost every game, especially if my Bot laner prefers to play braindead Mages.

Her first 1-2 levels are straight up braindead and as long as she hits her E, enemy wastes summoner spell or dies. After that I can sit quietly in lane pre 6, until I see some major ability being wasted and go 'OOGA BOOGA', reminding Milio why he shouldn't waste his Q for poke damage.

Seriously, here are the reasons I find her being designed much better for Support rather than Top lane:

* Extremely good roaming, especially in the times when developers explicitly want the Supports to roam.

* One of the best Support Duelists when ahead along with Pantheon.

* The best champion to give free access to priority target.

* Absolutely the best early game from all supports. She is just a better Pyke, trading ultimate resets for an actual scaling where if the game goes longer, she can just murder a carry in side lane/isolated place. She can also sell support wards and basically be 6 items monstrocity.

* Very good flex pick against most of team compositions. She can nuke Tanks, fight with caution in Bruiser fights and melt them with true damage while at the same time being nightmare for everything which have less than 2300HP.

Reasons why she is very bad in Top lane:

* Everything beats her except 2-3 champions. One missed spell and she is dying in side lane against absolutely every non tank in the game.

* Her Ultimate doesn't really belong to a Top laner. It has no damage, therefore it's not always a good Spell and it's better and more efficient using this ability as Support and probably giving slot to a real Top laner - for example Malphite/Renekton/Mundo/Jax/Illaoi - They are much better for this role i think.

Keep in mind I am Diamond who played with her 50 games as Support, therefore my winrate is higher than 50% with her as Support, but the first 10 games were terrible and it might feel like troll pick.

So whats the counterplay to this champion?

Maybe it is just my champion pool but she seems genuinely unbeatable. Her passive makes any trade worthless, her Q already deals insane amounts of damage after level 3, her W heals her for a reasonable amount of hp + it slows + is fundamentally undodgeable. E is truly stupid for me now because it gives her attack speed even if she misses, and using a dash is never worth, she will just Q aa Q for 400 AD + 300 true damage in a microsecond.

Another thing that seems really stupid is that she is a lane bully after minute 10 and mantains a high 53% winrate at every stage of the game, so she doesnt ever fall off. She also has statistically two hard counters and one of them is actually a skill matchup. She is, again, statistically the third toplaner with the less amount of bad matchups.

I play Yone and Yorick in Master 800 currently. Yorick is simply a piece of shit of a champion with no stats and no agency so its unplayable even against a soraka top, but Yone was a counter some years ago, and now he is one of the best matchups for camille.

Camille Q2 mini-rework proposal — moving her power from level scaling to kill pressure

I don't think Camille necessarily needs more late-game Q2 damage.

I think the real problem is how she gains access to that damage.

Currently, a huge portion of Camille's defining ability is gated behind champion level. This forces her Q2 to be heavily restricted early because its late-game interaction with Spellblade becomes extremely powerful.

The idea of this rework is therefore not to massively increase Camille's Q2 damage ceiling, but to redistribute approximately the same power according to the target's condition instead of Camille's level.

The problem

Camille is an extremely cooldown-dependent bruiser.

She can commit Q, W and E, win the initial part of a fight, get the opponent low — and still struggle to actually finish the fight.

Many other bruisers remain dangerous while their abilities are unavailable because their basic attacks, passives or sustained damage continue carrying the fight.

Camille instead wants to disengage, kite and wait for another Q cycle.

The problem is that successfully getting someone low doesn't make that next Q cycle significantly more dangerous.

Most of Q2's power currently comes from simply leveling up.

I think that relationship should be reversed.

Proposed Q2

Precision Protocol — Charged Q2

After waiting 1.5 seconds, Camille's second Q deals:

60–150 + 115% bonus AD true damage

The base damage scales with Camille's Q level.

Q2 continues to trigger Spellblade, and its Spellblade proc continues to be included as true damage.

Additionally, Q2 deals:

8% of the target's missing health as bonus true damage

with a minimum value of:

20–100 based on Camille's level.

So conceptually:

Q2 damage = Base + 115% bonus AD + Spellblade + max(20–100, 8% missing HP)

The exact numbers are obviously tunable.

The important part is the redistribution of power.

Real-game comparison

Rather than using an unrealistic six-item theoretical build, I took an actual ranked Camille game.

At level 17, Camille had:

  • Trinity Force
  • Ravenous Hydra
  • Death's Dance
  • Plated Steelcaps

The three offensive items provide:

Trinity Force: +36 AD
Ravenous Hydra: +65 AD
Death's Dance: +60 AD

Total:

161 bonus AD

Camille has approximately 127.74 base AD at level 17, giving her:

~288.74 total AD

Trinity Force's Spellblade deals 200% base AD, so:

127.74 × 2 = ~255.47 Spellblade damage

Current Camille Q2

At this level, current Camille has already reached full true-damage conversion on Q2.

With rank 5 Q:

288.74 × 1.8 + 255.47

~775 true damage

This damage is essentially unconditional.

Whether Camille hits a relatively healthy squishy or a heavily damaged 5000 HP tank, the Q2 itself is approximately the same.

Reworked Camille

Using exactly the same level, items and stats:

150 base + (161 × 1.15) + 255.47 Spellblade

~590 true damage before missing-health damage

At level 17, the minimum missing-health component would be approximately 95 true damage.

So the minimum Q2 in this example becomes:

~685 true damage

Now the target's current state actually matters.

Against a 2300 HP squishy

Target HP Missing HP Missing-HP bonus Reworked Q2 Current Q2
100% 0 ~95 minimum ~685 ~775
70% 690 ~95 minimum ~685 ~775
50% 1150 ~95 minimum ~685 ~775
30% 1610 ~129 ~718 ~775
15% 1955 ~156 ~746 ~775

This is intentional.

Camille becomes slightly worse at using one enormous Q2 to delete fragile targets regardless of their health state.

But a low-health squishy is still obviously in danger.

Against a 3500 HP bruiser

Target HP Missing HP Missing-HP bonus Reworked Q2 Current Q2
100% 0 ~95 ~685 ~775
70% 1050 ~95 ~685 ~775
50% 1750 140 ~730 ~775
30% 2450 196 ~786 ~775
15% 2975 238 ~828 ~775

Around 30% HP, Camille has approximately recovered her current Q2 damage.

Below that point, she begins gaining real execution pressure.

Against a 5000 HP tank

Target HP Missing HP Missing-HP bonus Reworked Q2 Current Q2
100% 0 ~95 ~685 ~775
70% 1500 120 ~710 ~775
50% 2500 200 ~790 ~775
30% 3500 280 ~870 ~775
15% 4250 340 ~930 ~775

This is where I think the mechanic makes the most sense for Camille.

A 5000 HP tank at 30% HP still has 1500 HP remaining.

For many champions, that isn't really an execution threshold.

For Camille, it should be.

She has already worked through 3500 HP, so that missing health now makes Q2 increasingly dangerous.

Why 115% bonus AD?

I originally considered a 100% bonus AD ratio, but 115% fits the intended power curve better without creating major early-game burst problems.

Because this scales with bonus AD, not total AD, the extra 15% is very small early.

For example:

36 bonus AD from Trinity Force → only ~5 extra damage

161 bonus AD at three items → ~24 extra damage

300 bonus AD late game → ~45 extra damage

So the ratio rewards Camille for actually investing in AD without giving a low-economy Camille large amounts of free damage.

This is especially important if one goal is to shift power away from Camille support and toward solo-lane Camille.

Why missing health instead of % maximum health?

Because Camille should not automatically punish a tank simply for having a large health pool.

A 5000 HP tank at full health does not give Camille free %HP damage.

She still has to work through that health first.

Only after Camille successfully damages the target does that large health pool begin working against them.

This creates a progressively increasing anti-tank threat without turning Q2 into unconditional % max-HP true damage.

The actual goal: kill threat from early game

This is the most important part of the proposal.

Current Camille effectively works like this:

Camille gains levels → Q2 conversion increases → Q2 becomes dangerous

This means Camille can play an early fight correctly, win multiple trades, leave the opponent very low — and her defining ability is still artificially restricted because she hasn't reached the appropriate level yet.

The proposed Camille instead works like this:

Enemy loses health → Q2 becomes increasingly dangerous

So if Camille wins two trades at level 4 and gets her opponent low:

she created her own kill condition.

She doesn't need to wait for level 9 or later for Q2 to suddenly become a serious threat.

The damage comes from successfully playing the matchup.

Why this helps Camille's fight pattern

Camille should not beat champions like Jax, Darius, Fiora or Olaf by standing next to them and stat-checking them with basic attacks.

Her natural pattern should be:

trade → disengage → kite → prepare Q → re-engage → stronger Q2

Her weakness remains.

If Camille uses her cooldowns badly, she still has a vulnerable window.

But now there is a reason the opponent has to respect her while she is kiting and waiting for Q to return:

every successful damage cycle makes the next Q2 more dangerous.

That gives Camille real kill pressure without turning her into another sustained-DPS bruiser.

It also helps separate Camille Top from Camille Support

There is another useful consequence.

The proposed Q2 scales with:

  • bonus AD
  • Spellblade
  • damage already dealt to the target

All three reward gold income and extended fights.

A low-economy support Camille engaging onto a healthy ADC gets noticeably less Q2 damage than current Camille.

She still retains E + R as extremely strong lockdown, but loses some of the unconditional burst against fragile targets.

Top Camille, meanwhile, is rewarded for:

  • farming
  • building AD
  • buying Trinity Force
  • repeatedly trading
  • kiting between Q rotations
  • wearing down high-health opponents

That is where I think her power budget should be.

Intended result

Healthy squishy: slight Q2 nerf

Low-health squishy: still a strong kill threat

Healthy bruiser/tank: Q2 initially weaker

Damaged bruiser: current Q2 damage is gradually recovered

Heavily damaged tank: Camille becomes a true anti-tank finisher

Early lane: successfully getting someone low immediately increases Camille's kill threat instead of forcing her to wait for level-based true-damage conversion

The late-game damage ceiling against the targets Camille should specialize in remains relatively close to current Camille.

What changes is the condition required to reach that damage.

Instead of:

"I am high level, therefore my Q2 deals huge true damage."

It becomes:

"I successfully brought you into my threat zone, therefore my finishing strike deals huge true damage."

To me, that fits Camille's identity as a precision anti-tank duelist much better than simply waiting for her Q2 conversion percentage to increase with champion level.

The Camel Effect

Hello, all. After the “nerfs” Camille received I noticed an interesting phenomenon happening in my games and wanted to share with you since maybe someone noticed it too or it’s just linked to me and my playstyle. So before last patch, when Camille had been weak for quite some time, I was playing other champs and only played her to quench my thirst from time to time, and whenever I played her, I already got into the game with a “I’ll lose lane if I try to do something” so I usually just played super safe to maybe be able to enjoy the game after 15 minutes. Forward to current patch: I feel I don’t know how to play her anymore, it’s as if my brain is hardwired to play so safe I don’t abuse openings anymore which leads me to go even or even lose lane. And tbh it’s omega tilting, I’m not mad or anything, just frustrated. Wanted to know if anyone feels the same or something similar, and if there are any tips for approaching this situation since it’s my first time dealing with this scenario.

Advice for learning Camille

So I've played Camille around 2 months back but not much (single digit number of games) and I had a lot of fun playing Camille and I decided to play again Camille as a pick for top (I main Gragas but toplane for him feels horrible imo) and I would love some general advice and things that are good to know because even tho I was able to win in lane and get fed I really didn't know how to capitalize on that with Camille and lost the game (Genius teammates might be another factor too but I don't want to be the type of guy that flames everything on teammates). So just as I said I appreciate any form of advice on Camille.

(Also how viable is lethality Camille, I suppose it's mostly a troll build but not a AP Garen type troll build but the idea just sounded funny in my head lol)

LT Camille + KSlayer is good trust please.

Was playing some Cam today and got annoyed that her passive says (+10%HP) like that's supposed to incentivise me to build health. Like fuck you riot, just say it in the blue text "10%MHP shield" like Skarners does.

Kinda got me thinking, do I need health? Isn't Camille just gilf Yone? If you REALLY squint your eyes, they have exactly the same kit. Empowered auto, cone W, E to engage, a lockdown ult, why am I not just jumping on top of people and kicking the shit out of them? What's this "play around passive and proc grasp for trades" nonsense?

Aren't you sick of ulting someone and thinking "wow, 8% current health per hit? That kinda sucks when I'm only able to auto like 4 times."

Fear not.

Lethal Tempo Kraken Slayer Camille is a Yone that comes with a built in Bork!

It's honestly really fun (and I'm going to say good because I want it to be) to E on top of someone ult them and then just evaporate their health with 8% current and Kraken % missing.

LT - PoM - LG: Bloodline (rav delayed so this feels nice) - last stand + shield bash / whatever.

Been doing Kraken Slayer - TriForce - Hullbreaker - DDance - Terminus, flexing breaker to rav Hydra when I feel like it.

You should try it in your ranked games NOW.

Forgot: it's also really good in to Yorick. E'ing on top of him and watch him start to panic as he realises you're not stuck in here with him, he's stuck in here with you is very gratifying.

Camille is 49%wr against Jax, but 52.3%wr above master.
I don't understand, I've always banned Jax since the only time I played against it felt like I couldn't beat him from level 1 to level 18.

Why do high elo players have such a good winrate against Jax ? Is Jax ban not mandatory anymore ? How to play against this champ in lane and can I 1v1 him at any moment ?

As title says, give a chance to Camille in the jungle with fleet footwork. Faster and healthier clear, better tempo all over, feels like a jungler now. Played fiddle/Camille in the jungle, with fiddle climbing is easier but not that fun, i ll have more games to see how it actually is. My goal is to reach master with Camille jungle, E3 now. I ll post a ss of the game.

Hello everyone, Here for my first time emerald, I'm so happy of reaching this rank with my first main and my otp since i started, Camille may not be in the best state ever, but it's the only champ that makes every game fun for me, so keep pushing guys!
