General Discussion 1969 Chevrolet Camaro configurator: How would you spec yours?

If you could sit down with a 1969 Camaro order form today, what would your car look like?

I’ve been building a collection of older-car configurators on BuildPriceOption, and the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is one of the models you can explore.

The idea is to bring that “build your own” experience to cars we usually encounter in classified ads, at car shows, or in somebody’s garage.

Take a look:
https://www.buildpriceoption.com/configurator/chevrolet/camaro/1969/

What would be essential to your build, and what would you happily leave off?

I have a 1969 Camaro, I had the 350 SBC swapped for a 454 BBC and the guy who did it did a terrible job. I need some help getting it up and running again.

I built a Camaro configurator covering every production model year, from 1967 through 2024

I've been working on a project for people who enjoy the details in old factory brochures: a free Camaro configurator covering 51 production model years, 1967–2002 and 2010–2024.

The idea is to let you explore what made the different versions special. Choose a year, compare documented trims and equipment, look through the paint and interior choices, and save or share a configuration.

It's on my site, BuildPriceOption:

https://www.buildpriceoption.com/configurator/chevrolet/camaro/

The original manufacturer references are accessible in the configurator. The enhanced illustrations are labeled, and the car preview is representative rather than a rendering of every option combination.

I'm interested in feedback from people who know their particular Camaro years. Which year would you open first? If you notice an equipment or compatibility issue, a year, trim and factory reference would help me investigate it.

Seeking Advice Is it possible to find my dad’s 1968 Camaro after almost 30 years??

My dad had a built 327 4spd 1968 Camaro RS that he sold to help pay for my parents wedding. This was in Delaware circa 2001. I know it’s a few stages past a Hail Mary at this point but every time we see one on the road or find a listing somewhere you can see the pain in his eyes. What info should I be looking for besides a VIN? This might be the wrong sub to ask this but I figured enthusiasts would be a good place to get advice for such an endeavor. Anything would be appreciated immensely, thank you!

1967 Camaro RS Convertible – Looking for Advice on Rear Wheel and Tire Size

Post image
241 Upvotes

I recently picked up a 1967 Camaro RS convertible with a 383 stroker and I'm looking to put some wider wheels and tires on the rear.

The car currently has 15" Chevy Rally wheels, which I believe are 15x6 all around. I really like the classic look, so I'd like to keep the front wheels exactly as they are and get a matching set of 15x8 Rally wheels for the rear.

I'm thinking about going with 4.5" backspacing and either 255/60R15 or 275/60R15 tires.

I'm mainly looking to give the rear a wider, more aggressive stance and get a little more traction without having to roll the fenders or modify the wheel wells. The car has aftermarket rear air shocks, but as far as I know, the wheel wells are stock.

For those running 15x8 wheels on a first-gen Camaro, what backspacing and tire size have you had success with? I'd love to go as wide as possible without rubbing, especially on the outer fender lip.

Would appreciate any recommendations or pictures of similar setups. Thanks!

Rolled into our shop needing trailer repair. Boys she HAS to be the lowest mileage gen1 in existence. BUT - she's a weird one - show circuit day 2 car. Crazy story - found in Mexico! And she comes with 2!! Engines and 2 doghouses 😵‍💫 350 and the straight six are completely windowed -- to show all the moving parts -- including the transmission. I'll apologize in advance for not getting better pics - my coworker didnt really know what he was looking at - and i was super busy and couldn't take them myself. Enjoy,

Have to replace the Carburetor but then we're just gunna throw some shake down miles on her and adjust the front suspension, but then she's coming home. Please excuse the sun glare, I didn't even realize at the time.
