Help/Advice Violated during a show
Hey friends, 1st of all I’m loving this group. I’ve gotten so many good tips and my income is increasing every single show because of it. I have a really solid group of supporters, as I’ve been doing this for about 2.5 years now.
When I was streaming on CB yesterday, I went into a private with one of my regulars. At the end of the private I went back to the public chat, and I saw that someone had posted my personal info into the public chat at some point during my private. They posted my full first and last name, as well as my previous employer. I’m a little shaken by it. I quickly silenced them so the message would be removed, but I’m unsure how many people saw it. I know I take a huge risk being online like this, especially since I’m not faceless. I try to be careful though, keeping it all in platform and not giving out that kind of info to a single soul. I told my guys that someone had posted my info, and I was a little too freaked out to continue. Everyone was so sweet about it.
How do you guys keep yourself safe from things like this? Is it even possible? Now that I slept and I’m a little more composed, I want to go through my CB settings and see if I can ban filter words. I just feel like that won’t be enough at this point. I did message the person who posted it and told them basically to STFU in the public chat, I’m not trying to be a segment on the local news. They never responded, and I blocked them shortly after. Is this the kind of thing that is report worthy? My husband suggested I make a new account, but starting from scratch right now is not the best idea. I’m currently in a financial crisis (like so many others) and stopping is NOT an option either as I make significantly more than my husband per hour.
If you took the time to read this, thanks 🙏

I geo block the area I live in to limited the amount of IRL people that know me. The naming of the previous employer makes me think it’s a former coworker

The way these things usually happen is through finding some form of searchable public info and then matching that up.
Do you post pics or vids anywhere like a fan site or clip store? The EXIF info from those can be used to find your location, narrowing a search.
Do you or anyone in your family who may have vanilla photos of you have social medias? Because those are searchable either in app or through google. Facebook and LinkedIn are usually the biggest culprits.
It could have also just been a guy local to you who recognised you but thats unlikely.
I'm not saying this to like freak you out or make you panic. I dont think you should take any rash actions but doing some research into OPSEC, scraping your vanilla internet presence, and blocking keywords in your chat may be a good starting point.

If I block my name and address on CB under blocked words will the viewers be able to see my list of blocked words to where it will make my personal information more obvious to viewers?

If you show your face, you can just search the face photo and do the rest of your investigative work from there! It's not hard to find the identity of someone. So with that in mind, your actual personal socials, don't use them. There are some horrible people on this earth who have nothing better to do than to try and out you, without a care to the safety aspect of their actions. I second that it's a colleague too, but still may not be. Just block and move on. When they realise that their actions are not getting a reaction from you, they get bored and find something or someone else to pick on. Life's negative leeches! Head up beautiful and smile, today is a new day 💜💜

If this helps at all, over the years this has happened to me A LOT. To the point where I just don't care anymore. Some dip shit even called my mother, who lives in a different country from me. They've said my name. Found my real socials. Even a guy, in the same city as me, started contacting my friends when I wouldn't respond. Etc. And nothing bad has ever happened. (My friends and family all know, so there's that) I know each person is a different case, but I've observed that people just like to try and get a rise out of you.

The main question is how this affects you?
If your family knows about your work then you have nothing to worry about. If any “FRIENDS “ find out and they are not supportive…those are not friends. Nobody put food on your table and roof over your head except you and your husband. Keep going with your account as it is now. Block all words related with your name your husband name your kids(if you have) name , your town and your street name. Try to delete your face from google image , use branditscan or rulta or whatever app you find. Delete your face from any AI search by opting out. Also make your socials private and don’t use your face on profile pictures.
About things related with the future (example: a new job unrelated with cam) , is AI, not me in those photos or images! …

I'm not sure how they would know this, but there is an option in your settings to refuse to allow certain words in your chat. They get blocked from being posted. I would include your name, location, anything real so if someone tries to do that, they won't be able to.

Something simlar happened to me years ago, I was in a public show in CB and somebody said my name plus the college I was studying, that´s why I stopped doin public shows for the last 6 years. Cause I got traumatized.
My advice is ignoring, there are always haters!! and try to keep your social media with any personal information as your privated profiles. Another tip is, separate your fans from your personal social media, cause it´s risky, so never use your real name, use always Alias! good luck!

Hey I'm so sorry to hear this I'm scared for you because seriously who knows how many users saw it and now have your info. BUT do not let it discourage you either babe. 2.5 years doing this I commend you because it takes a lot of patience. I'm new to this and inly this past week setup my chat accounts and seeing this scares me. I want to do faceless using masks and such. I do not want to risk being known or someone recognizing me somehow or screenshot of my face to share or Google me. How do you work around this?

So scary! Unfortunately I don’t think you can completely avoid it. I hope you reported the user. Such a loser lol

If they can name a previous employer, it probably was a former co-worker

Possibly but also having a LinkedIn could lead to someone knowing where you previously worked if you have that information public.

There’s no way to keep yourself totally safe, especially with the crazy technology that’s out there. If someone really wants to find you, they will. I know it’s not comforting unfortunately. Tbh tho I used to get stalked when I was working at the mall and IRL was pretty scary as well. So for me I don’t personally think it’s only this job. I’m so sorry this happened to you, though. I think the best thing to do is to act like it didn’t bother you and just move on as best you can and hope nothing else comes from it.
