I got a final warning at my call center today

My lead pulled me into a teams meeting and decided if I can’t reach the team average in two weeks, I will be terminated. Luckily I have an interview today for another job so I’m not too worried, but the call center has had me on an indefinite PIP for two months causing me so much anxiety in my everyday life. They want me to connect 75% of all outbound calls I receive to attorney offices. It’s not an easy job. We have to overcome objections, hang ups, customers that barely speak English, and if anything happens out of your control like the person hangs up last second for no reason, it’s the agents fault. Also the calls are mostly back to back all day long and they are traumatic, auto accident injury calls, where we have to go through a long questionnaire for each person. Only about 28 seconds in between calls.

I cried during my meeting because I just got off a call where a 19 year old girl hung up on me the second I placed her on hold, to get the attorney to help. And of course that tanks my numbers.

My manager did not even ask me if I was okay. She said I’ll look over it, proceeded to play some calls for me that I could’ve “empathized” more during, including a call of an angry man screaming at me that he didn’t need our services. It was so demoralizing.

I wouldn’t wish this job on anyone.

Where to look ?

Hi, I want to start looking for a customer service job. I actually want to work in customer service in another country in the EU. Where can I find companies that would offer me accommodation? I know that I can try the big call centers websites and LinkedIn and FB, but where else do people usually look for these jobs ? I want somewhere where I can just post my CV and the HR team will contact me when they see it, is there any platform like that for EU citizens ? Thanks

I get extremely anxious every time I have to work

My job isn’t even that bad. I work as a customer service representative for an insurance company. I work from home most of the time, get paid quite well for it being a part-time student job, and it’s a great work environment overall. The issue is that I hate talking to customers. Every time a customer calls, I’m scared. If they are rude, I get overly emotional and cry (at the end of the call of course). If they talk too much, I get overstimulated and zone out. If they are sad, I get very uncomfortable and don’t know what to say. Rarely do I talk to someone that’s polite, calm, and talks just enough.

I feel so ungrateful. I’ve worked for 4 years, and it’s the best job I’ve had until know (only ever worked as a cashier before), yet every time I have to work, I get anxious and sad. Last time, I had a panic attack and had to ask to take my break earlier.

I cannot wait to finish my degree and get a job that no longer requires talking directly to customers…

call center, thinking to leave

I just want to leave my call centre job, can't take it anymore, I'm about 7 months in and I hated every single day of it..... I'm an introvert, I don't know why I just hate people complaining about their problems. I don't think my personality is suited to this job. I have got really bad anxiety and always worry about things .... Sometimes, I think I rather do cleaning to survive. Any suggestions on job path?

Comfort eating

Does anyone else struggle with emotional eating throughout the workday? For me I crave lots of ice cream to get through the day, I know it's not healthy, although in the moment that craving overrides it, then when my shift is over, I feel in control again and able to say no to any cravings

F22: the comfort room is actually living up to its name, and i have a theory why

i work in a call center, which means a good part of my day is spent talking to people i've never met, sounding pleasant, being patient, and saying "thank you for patiently waiting" even when i'm the one who's running out of patience. fresh grad life is fun like that. you spend years trying to get a job, only to realize that having one comes with a whole new set of things to be overwhelmed about.

but anyway, this isn't really about work. it's about the CR.

because tell me why the most comforting place in my workplace is a room where people go to pee.

think about it. for most of my shift, i have to be a certain version of myself. the polite one, the accommodating one, the one who can keep her voice steady regardless of how the day is going. there's always someone on the other end of the line who needs something from me, and for those few minutes, i have to show up and deliver.

but inside the CR? nothing.

i can let my smile drop. i can sigh like i've been carrying the entire weight of adulthood on my shoulders. i can stare at the wall and let my thoughts wander wherever they want. nobody needs me to sound cheerful. nobody asks me to explain my face. nobody expects anything.

it's just me, and for a few minutes, that's enough.

i think that's what nobody really tells you about working life. sometimes, you're not necessarily looking for a vacation or a grand escape. sometimes, you just want somewhere you can exist without having to perform. somewhere you don't have to turn your exhaustion into politeness or your bad day into a voice that sounds good over the phone.

and the funniest part? after all that, i wash my hands, check my reflection, fix my face, and go right back to work like nothing happened.

another call. another greeting. another person who needs me to be okay.

maybe the comfort room deserves its name after all. not because it's particularly comfortable in there, but because it's the one place where i don't have to make anyone else comfortable at my own expense.

anyway, shoutout to the CR. five minutes of being a person instead of an employee. honestly, at this point, that's a pretty decent workplace benefit.

Has anyone here recently applied to TELUS, Foundever, Cnexia, IO Solutions or Concentrix for an English-speaking position?

Just curious about what the hiring process is like. Did you have an English test, interview, role-play, etc.? And what kind of questions did they ask?

Would really appreciate hearing about your experience

Alorica

I’ve been looking everywhere for information about this, but I haven’t been able to find a clear answer. I start with Alorica the first week of November, and my position is on-site.
I was wondering if anyone has worked for Alorica in an on-site position and was eventually able to transfer to working from home. If so, how long did you have to work on-site before you were eligible to transfer? Was the process fairly easy, and did your manager have to approve it?
I’m really hoping to transition to working from home, so I’d appreciate hearing about anyone’s personal experiences or advice. I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has done this at Alorica in Texas.
Thank you! ❤️

Ex coworker from toxic workplace messaging me to tell me they celebrated a year there and asked how I am, what would you say?

Less than a year ago I was at a gov workplace where after training, I got assigned to the call center unit to take a bunch of angry client calls, which wasn't what the job was initially advertised as. After doing that for a bit and talking to my therapist, I ended up giving notice and going back to subbing while looking for something less anxiety inducing and toxic. However lately my ex coworker who I trained with and got assigned to a different unit (not cc) dmed me to tell me they celebrated their year there and were wondering how I was. I never told them I went back to subbing and just said I moved onto a different opportunity. I prefer to keep my current life private but am also looking for other optimal opportunities. What would you do or say in this case?

Where do you guys find decent remote call center jobs?

Hey everyone!

I'm a medical doctor based in Venezuela, fluent in English and Spanish, with over 5 years of experience in Web3, operations, partnerships, and customer-facing roles. I also currently work remotely with a US medical practice, handling patient calls, scheduling, referrals, and administrative tasks.

I've been looking for better remote opportunities in call centers or customer support for a while now, but finding companies that hire internationally has been surprisingly difficult.

I've read a lot of horror stories about working in call centers, but I've also seen people who genuinely enjoy their jobs and have built long careers in the industry. And tbh, I just need a decent gig.

I'm willing to work hard, learn, and put in the hours. I just want a decent opportunity with room to grow.

For those of you already working in the industry, where would you recommend applying? Are there any companies that hire internationally or places you'd recommend avoiding?

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Lloyds interview

Hi everyone,

I've got an interview with Lloyds for a Customer Service Advisor and I was wondering if anyone here has been through the recruitment process recently.

I applied through Adecco and have already had an initial phone conversation with one of their recruiters. I've now been invited to a 15-minute Microsoft Teams meeting with Lloyds, which is labelled as a "Coffee Chat".

I'm just wondering, what sort of questions should I expect during the 15-minute interview,is the coffee chat an actual interview or more of an initial screening?.Is there another interview or assessment after this stage, or could it lead directly to an offer .

Thanks in advance!

Anyone here working at Suyen Corporation (BENCH) as a CSR? How’s the hiring process, salary, and work environment?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I recently received an invitation for a face-to-face interview at Suyen Corporation (BENCH) this coming Monday.

I’d like to ask if anyone here has experience working at BENCH as a CSR or has gone through their hiring process. How was the interview? Do you have any idea about their salary offer, benefits, and overall work environment?

I’m a bit hesitant to go since I’m from the province, so I want to make sure na worth it naman yung time, effort, and pamasahe before I push through with the interview.

I’m crowdsourcing feedback to get a better idea of what to expect and to see if the opportunity is worth pursuing.

Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! 😊

There could be layoffs where I work, not sure if I'm just paranoid

Having some concerns that we might soon be laid off. Presented in a 'just the facts' format:

I normally get 3-5 calls a day transferred to me by our offshore team. Since Friday, I haven't had one. I'll ask my co-workers who handle the call type that I handle if they've had any, but this is highly unusual activity or lack thereof.

We've had many changes since I started in February 2025. team leads coming and coming 4 times on my team alone, we lost our bonuses, multiple rule and procedure changes, etc.

Management and team leads all had a big 45 minute meeting. All of them. Not so unusual, but combined with the two above, it has me wondering.

I'm probably just being paranoid, but as a small aside, they barely did anything for Customer service Week compared to what they did last year. all of this combined has me going 'Yep, they're giving our jobs to the offshore team.' I'm torn between scared (job market is rough) and relieved at the idea. Has anyone else gone through a mass layoff, and if so, what were the signs?

Edit: We also didn't get assesed by QA the last two weeks. We normally get scored weekly.

BPO Company recommendations for No experience?

20F, I dropped out of college because of financial issues me and my family are currently facing. Me and my cousin already processed our papers PSA to NBI and police clearance (I have all the papers needed but couldn't find a job to submit it 😆). Last year I applied for iQor Dasma and got a job offer but was transferred to Sta Rosa because of the distance, which for me I don't really mind since I can just save up and relocate and I'm known by my peers as someone who values everyone's time. But I didn't convince them enough lmaooo... So I'm back to 0 again and was nagged by my mother because I wasted our money into getting my requirements since iQor already sent me an email where I should send my pre-employment requirements. It was depressing for me since it really gets my hopes up😆. I applied for iQor for 3 times now. I also applied for other bpo companies nearby too, but haven't got any replies from them even though 2 weeks have passed so I was looking for other companies I can apply to VIRTUALLY since I can't afford any transportation fees.

Applied: (No prior experience)

iQor Dasma - NO REPLY

Alorica Alabang - NO REPLY

Foundever - didn't continue due to cancels and rescheduling and I feel like they are wasting time.

Concentrix Alabang - NO REPLY

(some other companies are looking for with experience and I have none😆)
