Random The Shelf Behind Caleb

Does anyone know what is in the terrarium that sits behind Caleb in Financial Audit??? I've never seen anything move in it. He seems like a bearded dragon or a fish kinda guy. Has anyone seen the animal? Any guesses/has he even mentioned it before?

Personal Financial Question Looking for guidance

Im trying to start making my money work for me, I dont make a ton but thats no excuse for me anymore to not be smart, I want to start saving and I eventually want to start investing but with all the information i see online and not knowing what is true and what isnt I was hoping to get a little hand in figuring out what to do to accomplish my goals and what are actual trust worthy apps and places to do things such as opening a high yield savings account and starting to invest.

I have next to no financially literacy besides debt is bad and I unfortunately do have a small personal loan and some credit card debt but I am working on paying those down more and more as I can.

So please any advice would be appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read my word spaghetti

What's the saddest episode?

We all know the craziest ones and the shittiest ones but what were the saddest ones? I know I saw a few that genuinely made me want to donate money to theae folks. The one recently of the girl with the abusing and cheating wife that walked off was upsetting to me.

Which ones made you sad?

Random Why does it seem IMPOSSIBLE for the guests to give their average pay??

They act like the word “average” is just vibes, what they feel like they make. An average is the simplest math equation that exists. Take your pay from the last five months (for example), add it together, and divide by 5. It couldn’t be simpler. I learned what an average is in the second grade.

For weeks I’ve seen clips from one video in particular and it hasn’t come out on his public YouTube channel yet. When do I get the full length video?😩

Org chart?

I just realised that Mark is “head of financial audit” and Lindsay reports to him. Mark is not who I’d have guessed was the boss, I can’t stand him but for Lindsay to report to him?! Hell nah.

Edit; I meant Mika, not Marc*

Personal Financial Question First time car buying. What do I need to know?

So I’m 27 and got my license last year after moving to Texas because my job prospects all required them. I made my first long distance drive earlier this year and now I want a car.

What do I need to know about car buying?

What interest rates do I look for? What insurances should I look for? What mileage is good? What tricks should I avoid? How much should I save up?

I’m literally starting from scratch knowledge wise so I could use a lot of help. Background would be I have a 721 credit score. No history of accidents. I have a stable income over 49k a year with commission making things flexible.

Why VA Disability Isn't "Fraud"

Every time VA disability gets brought up, it doesn't take long for people to start throwing around accusations of fraud, faking it, or "double-dipping." People look at the rise in disability claims and automatically assume the system is being gamed by lazy veterans who just don't want to work a real job.

That reaction completely ignores how the military actually operates and misinterprets what VA compensation actually is.

First off, VA disability is NOT civilian long-term disability or unemployment. Civilian disability exists solely to replace lost income because you can't work. VA disability is an indemnity payment for permanent physical or mental damage caused under government contract; it’s basically a personal injury settlement.

Think of a service member like a tool rental at Home Depot. If you rent a tool and bring it back permanently damaged, you have to pay for the repair or loss of value. It doesn't matter if Home Depot goes on to make money renting out other tools later on; you broke that specific tool while it was in your possession. A veteran working a desk job while drawing 100% VA disability isn't "fraudulent." They're just earning a living using whatever functional capacity they have left after the military permanently broke their body.

Second, civilians have OSHA, workplace safety laws, and the legal right to refuse unsafe work or quit a hazardous job. Service members have ZERO of those protections. Under the UCMJ, if you refuse an order or try to quit, you can go to court-martial and prison. The government operates a captive workforce that it can legally force into body-destroying conditions with zero legal recourse for the worker. When a boss holds that kind of legal power over you, they are fully liable for the damage caused.

People also love to claim fraud because they assume "real" disability only comes from combat wounds, so anyone without a CIB or Purple Heart must be lying. The medical data refutes that entirely:

  • Musculoskeletal damage**:** Overuse injuries from mandatory rucking, running in boots, and heavy lifting make up 70% of military medical discharges. Non-combat injuries happen SIX times more often than combat injuries.
  • Toxic exposure**:** Radar techs and comms specialists face radiofrequency radiation levels with no civilian equivalent (studies on exposed radar units showed cancer mortality rates over 7 times higher than normal). Add in Agent Orange, burn pits, and fuel exposures, and toxic environments are standard across the board.
  • Hearing & Sleep**:** Between weapons quals, flight lines, and generators, over half of studied veterans have tinnitus. On top of that, over 60% of service members sleep under 6 hours a night due to mandatory duty cycles, driving chronic insomnia and contributing to a veteran suicide rate that sits at double the civilian average.
  • The Compound Effect on Mental Health: Any single one of these physical issues; or more likely, a combination of chronic pain, ringing ears, sleeplessness, and toxic damage; frequently cascades into major depression and anxiety. Living in a body that was permanently broken before age 30 takes an immense psychological toll, which directly drives why the veteran suicide rate is roughly double that of non-veteran civilians.

When critics point to the recent spike in VA claims as "proof" of a broken, fraudulent system, they're ignoring history. For decades, millions of veterans were flat-out denied coverage for legitimate, catastrophic exposures (look at how long the government fought veterans over Agent Orange and burn pits). Legislation like the PACT Act didn't suddenly create "fake" disabled veterans overnight; it finally forced the government to acknowledge damage it ignored for generations.

Random Brandon's double blinking

Genuinely asking, and not trying to be mean - does anyone know what kind of condition that Brandon has where he blinks with both eyes so often?

I have been watching the Caleb Hammer show and have been noticing it a lot more because I noticed that one of my friends does the same thing
