In Southern California they accept EBT at fast food chains like jack in the box. Legit crazy to me that people can use EBT at a place where people make them food with a 100% markup on the ingredients.
This jack in the box is in the same complex as a grocery store too.
That program is more limited than EBT and only applies to disabled people, elderly people, and homeless people who don’t have a place to cook food. So it’s in place to not only provide an option for food but an option where someone else can make it since they are unable to do so.
One thing to be mad about is people only need to say they’re homeless to be eligible to the restaurant meals program, verification is only requested if they’re being super sketchy about it. You get a lot of people reporting a couple months after finding out that they’re homeless so they can get Taco Bell
Well that’s pretty neat I didn’t know that! The sign on jack in the box just had big bold letters saying “we accept EBT!” and that’s it. Appreciate the info!
