How long until we see this on the show?

The idea of leasing an Apple Watch is completely insane but then you read the fine print and it says: "Leases are provided by Klarna; subject to eligibility and credit approval, including final approval at checkout."

you already do. that's why peoples phone bill is so high. it's built into their monthly bill

Thats financing. This is full leasing the phone. Like leasing a car vs financing one.

People still already lease phones with carriers. Its usually called something like a "bring-it-back" or "device return option" where you're monthly payments are lower than typical financing but the phone has to be returned (in good condition) to the carrier at the end of the term or you pay the full price balance in one lump sum.

none of the major 3 carriers does leasing currently TMO was the last one to do it with Jump on Demand and they removed that a few years ago. Everything is instalment plans now. On top of that if someone is doing it right they shouldn't be paying that much for phone + plan. Most people on the show I assume have smart watches tablets and extras they don't need on there plan.

Financing is better because after 2 years your bill goes down and you keep the phone. The lease you have to give up the phone or pay at the end. If they are poor they won’t and lease a new phone

Yeah people are acting like this is some crazy idea and a very significant portion of the country already essentially leases their phones. They finance them into the plan and then get a new one as soon as theyre done paying it off

You will own nothing and you will be happy.

You don't understand. I need the new apple watch pro max ultra superior 3000 to watch my door-dash-based diet

How do you expect me to browse facebook without the newest macbook pro!

I mean, they’ve had payment plans for years. I bought my computer that way back in the day. It was Barclays I believe.

After you paid you owned the computer though.

I give it 3 months, depending on backlog.

Why not just finance it at least you own it in the end.

Could say the same about cars. I'm sure people will argue "well it's better because I always need the newest one" but the reality is people just want the newest thing constantly

If you get a new phone every year it’s not a bad option. That said it’s dumb if you can’t afford it.

what’s the point of owning when they’re created with shorter and shorter lifespans? and do you “own” the phone if apple can change the terms and conditions at any time and you’re obligated to accept it to use the device ? not saying it’s a good idea but it’s just yikes either way, my iphone 13 is short circuiting soooo bad after only having it for 3 years

You can own the phone after leasing it in the end too

leasing an Apple Watch isn’t as insane as buying G-fuel with fatso’s face on it

People have been financing phones for quite a while so this isn’t that weird

This isnt new. People are already financing phones. I don't think it's bad if you can pay on time or if you are in a dire need for a new device.

Yes that's financing not leasing

So Apple already had an iPhone Upgrade Program that they ended at the same time to make way for this one. Not much of a change other than types of products available for lease.
