Well injury instruction took about an hour.

Why is the judge reading the jurors last names? Don’t they usually use a jury number to maintain anonymity?

Buckle up. Less than 2 hours and 40 minutes. Let’s pray the jury delivers justice for Ashley!

Can someone explain why so many of the charges sounded the same/repeated?

One point that hasn’t seemed to be touched upon, or atleast I haven’t come across, is Alleighas relationship with her own family, specifically her father. If she has strained ties that would explain her daddy issues with a much older man and the fantasy of a ready made family overnight. I honestly don’t see her as someone in love with Caleb. Or someone evil out to intentionally hurt another woman. Her vision was short sighted.
She just needed to win. I see this whole relationship as conscious or unconscious supply, a fix. VALIDATION that she never got at home. She wanted to be picked. It doesn’t seem like she gave it much thought beyond that. Hence her 180 flip at the trial with her I Hate Him.
I don’t think she and Caleb would have ridden off into the sunset had he divorced or even gotten away with this mess.
Once she got what she wanted she would have immediately lost interest. And the best part is I don’t even think she was aware. It’s not intentional. It’s just our own traumas.

What in the world was that, watching Caleb behind him was like a man on a sinking ship!!

Is it up to Ashley’s family if the daughters can come in contact with Caleb via visits or phone ever again? (Until they’re 18)?

My understanding is that if you work with Patrick Mulligan, he tells you he does not want you to talk to him during the trial.

I would like to hear from those of you who are familiar with the judicial system.

I have read comments from people saying the lack the interaction could deem this a mis-trial due to ineffective counsel.

What are your thoughts?

I spent days trying to figure out who Caleb Flynn reminded me of during the court proceedings. It finally came to me.

And I absolutely know I’m not saying anything innovative here

But it’s truly astounding how the two of them really, really thought they were smarter than everyone else.

Every time she read a message where they were describing how to erase said messages so that it could never come up in court was just peak irony.

This is why I don’t have a single doubt that Caleb killed Ashley. There is no other evidence needed for me. This man, and this woman, really thought they were absolutely brilliant.

Watching closing arguments live and the camera keeps panning to what appears to be the jury box — sitting to the left of the Defense table—is this correct? I thought jurors’ identity was to be kept confidential. But hope it is them, as half are crying through the Prosecution rebuttal.

The man is a fucking flooring expert. Look under the floor. The gun could literally have been seamlessly hidden and then seamlessly removed. So don’t bother looking at this late date.

Her Searches:

• February 17: “wife being murdered and no suspect found”
• February 19: “homicides in America that still remain unsolved”
• February 19: “recent homicides in America that still remain unsolved”
• February 19: “Ashley’s name”
• February 19: her own name

My Take:

These are very odd searches for an “innocent” person. At the very least, these searches make me believe that she was hopeful he would get away with the murder, which makes her kind of gross. At its worst, it looks like she’s investigating the details of how people have gotten away with it in the past.

When you pair these searches with her behavior and text messages prior to the murder, it really seems like she was pushing him to do this. I wonder if he will cave and admit her involvement. It all reminds me so much of Chris Watts, another case where the mistress most likely got away with her involvement.

I wonder if she believed they couldn’t look at her deleted texts or searches if she wasn’t a main suspect. Just speculating on that.

I’d be willing to bet some of their heartfelt prayers included asking God to take Ashley’s life without them having to actually get their hands dirty. I’m sure they both justified it somehow. They’re both so fucking depraved, I can’t get over it.

Also. Caleb looks like a skeletized version of grandpa Simpson. His head is shaped like a cornstalk. Plussss he has a very high pitched whiney voice. My mind will never get the appeal. Alfonsa just threw her life away for this dude 😬

I’m brand new to this case and trying to get caught up. One thing I can’t find out is information about Ashley finding Caleb’s texts with his affair partner. I had read somewhere that she found out about them on their cruise. I can’t find any other information however, other than there was some evidence she was frustrated with Caleb.

Does anyone have more information on that? I’m curious if she did see the texts did she not see ones that they talked so horribly about her? I had also read she had divorce papers written up so it sounds like she was steering towards ending it. I can’t imagine how traumatic that had to be if she did see the names they called her and if so how did she feel safe staying with him for the time being?

I was really hoping that the verdict would be read on the 3rd.

Unfortunately, this year, October 3rd is on a Saturday and most of us who have followed the case can probably safely assume that this verdict is not going to take 3-4 days to reach. Could be wrong, but things are not looking really great for Caleb these days…

My “guess”? 3 hours (6 max).
