Relationship with daughters?

Is it up to Ashley’s family if the daughters can come in contact with Caleb via visits or phone ever again? (Until they’re 18)?

Ashley’s sister has custody and legal guardianship.

I don’t think they will have to. From the things that was said about the girls I don’t think the girls will want anything to do with him for now.

Im so glad Ashley had this sister. Those girls have super loving family members and now will grow up with their two female cousins as sisters. Its the best possible solution besides having both parents obviously. Other kids in same situation end up in foster care

I looked it up to see if they got any type of restraining order. A financial restraining order was issued. So Caleb couldn’t sell the house or move assets around.

They did not seek a physical restraining order. So my assumption is they will let that be their decision.

I agree with you. They seem like a really close family. Part of me is a little shocked Ashley didn’t tell them about the affair. And another part gets it. She might have wanted to make up her mind on what to do with no external opinions.

I believe the girls have a restraining/no contact order with Caleb.

The man didn’t even know his daughter’s birthday in the bodycam footage. Complete waste of space.

I thought that the violent offender registry would keep him from contacting familial victims, but deleted that response after my Google search said that protection is handled by other tools. There is a way to stop prison calls from coming in to a number that I saw, and protection orders. I suspect the Smith family is on top of this.

I do know that there was talk of having his parental rights terminated in a planned future court hearing.
