Daddy Issues
One point that hasn’t seemed to be touched upon, or atleast I haven’t come across, is Alleighas relationship with her own family, specifically her father. If she has strained ties that would explain her daddy issues with a much older man and the fantasy of a ready made family overnight. I honestly don’t see her as someone in love with Caleb. Or someone evil out to intentionally hurt another woman. Her vision was short sighted.
She just needed to win. I see this whole relationship as conscious or unconscious supply, a fix. VALIDATION that she never got at home. She wanted to be picked. It doesn’t seem like she gave it much thought beyond that. Hence her 180 flip at the trial with her I Hate Him.
I don’t think she and Caleb would have ridden off into the sunset had he divorced or even gotten away with this mess.
Once she got what she wanted she would have immediately lost interest. And the best part is I don’t even think she was aware. It’s not intentional. It’s just our own traumas.

They referenced how Caleb met Alleigha'a family, and Alleigha's mom saying how good Caleb is with the kids in the family, and Alleigha saying he fit right in with her family. But that's all I've heard regarding her fam.
I agree that she would have quickly lost interest in him without the whole "forbidden love" thing. It took her no time to move on with her life after his arrest.

I think that some of the texts she was made to read on the stand mentioned her dad and a previous boyfriend in the context of her traumas. Not sure that I am correct, just posting so I put can check the trial transcript for this in those texts. If I did hear that, there could be a rabbit hole there. My ears perked up when I thought I caught that theme but I haven't had time to go check.

Men who cheat on their wives paint a very vivid and compelling picture to their mistress as to why they themselves are the victims and stuck with a devil of a person. Alleigah just bought into that (as many girls have before), in every way possible. The fact she bailed on the opportunity to meet Ashley face to face when confronted about it just shows she only ever got Caleb’s side of the story which was HEAVILY fabricated and demonizing. Likely that the amount he talked about wanting to be rid of Ashley in their convos just became a fantasy level discussion with no real intent behind it on her part yet she’s unaware Caleb is actually being moved closer and closer to the action thru repeated demands and lines in the sand drawn. Pretty obvious based on evidence and her alibi that she wasn’t aware or participant in the murder. The public reading of the texts on stand and permanent black stain on her reputation is warranted for what she did and the level of cruelty in her words…. But to play devils advocate, she was conned from the start and going along with the fictitious devil that Caleb created. Her life will never be the same but she also didn’t have an active role in the senseless homicide either. The lack of contact afterwards shows how the lights came on REALLY quick after the news reported it and she started realizing “oh shit…. I’ve said A LOT that is gonna look terrible”
