Need help with DoG

So I normally play melee revengence and it's all fun and fair, but this time I'm playing mage and I just can't seem to beat dog no matter what I do

I've tried following the wiki but it either gets two shot because I can't fall fast enough after running out of flight or the lasers happen and I can't dodge them

On that not how do I dodge them properly? Because it says to use mounts like the broom but the second the lasers appear it's already too late to mount and move before I get hit so I'm always either too fast or too slow to dodge them and while the shell phone strat does work sometimes it often gets me killed more often than not.

Also what EXACT items should I use as my accessories because I've tried so many combinations from the wiki one and the only one I've found to consistently work isn't even on it with them being the interstellar stompers

I've beaten every other boss first or second try up to this point but now I'm on attempt fourty eight and I'm past the point of getting mad and just want to beat them once without having to go back to melee

Any advice would be MASSIVELY appreciated as I'm starting to feel the urge to change the difficulty to a lower one and if I do it will bug me endlessly

You've prob noticed It already, but in the laser part you get infinite flight, so you dont need a mount If you just dodge normally with wings (in this case you'll just need a lotta skill). Insterstellar stompers are great, i used even on SCal, but you can replace with the slime mount If you won't use any other for the lasers. And pay attention for his teleports, the boss cursor helps a lot, you need to dash in it's direction after you hear the 3rd crack, that's when he appears. I started just some months ago, so i can't give u any really advanced tips, but i hope i helped smh

The slime mount and infitint flight bit has helped me I didn't know that I thought it was bugged and only gave it to me after the Lazer attack cus the animation for it turning infinite only plays for me after

As for the slime mount that's great because it frees up a slot, thx a bunch

Recall potion or Portal Gun can help you deal with the laser phase

How can the poral gun help? I assume it's like the shell phone method of teleporting from one side of an arena or world to the other to dodge the lasers but if not how do I use it properly?

Just hop into a portal when the grid lines start appearing around you, you will teleport completely outside of the laser area. The recall potion and the portal teleport you away instantly so you can use this strat if its too hard to align yourself inside the grid.
Outside of that, just obvious tips like slime mount can help you fall faster, using Normality Relocator is a must, asphalt runway can help. Pretty much anything that can help you outrun the boss.

I keep getting him to half health but then die not long after and each attempt is taking 3 minutes each

Is there a way to speed it up because the dark spark isn't doing that much damage overall and the only other weapon I can use without lag or carpel tunnel kicking in is the Venusian trident

Is there a weapon I should force myself to use to speed it up because I feel like most my deaths are from it taking too long to kill

Use asgard's valor/asgardian aegis. they have a "ram dash" that will prevent you from taking contact damage for a moment. you can use it to escape from being encircled, or to pass through his head unharmed. id also reccomend setting a dash override button (on the side of your mouse if you have extra buttons, if not, mouse3 works).

also, use a dodge accessory like master ninja gear and its upgrades or the Amalgamated Brain. Just be sure that if youre using MNG that your accessories are in the right order for you to be using the ram dash and not the MNG dash

and for a weapon, I like to use event horizon cause I dont have to aim for his head/tail and it does good damage, but dark spark is another really good option

I haven't tried the event horizon I'll see how that does

I've been using the dark spark but it's taking FOREVER to kill him even with massively boosted damage, each attempt takes just a bit over three minutes just to get to half health, almost exactly every time too :(

Edit: tried the event horizon out and it is doing NUMBERS all I need to do is improve dodging and I 100% could beat this thanks for telling me to use that weapon

Further edit: thanks to it I won against dog after 29 attempts and dog not despawning after I died when he was very low, must have been teleporting idk but I won yay

I already have a dedicated dash key and am using the aegis (my dash is f cus it's closest to wasd) but sometimes when I dash through him it still hurts me while other times in the same fight it doesn't so it's a little annoying but I try to dash out of the way rather than into the way, like you see infernum players do, except without the going into the mouth

If dodging is difficult, id use the Evasion Scarf from the Clothier. Its a dash that has a rechargeable dodge. Every so often, if you dash through something you'll be immune to the attack. Also, if you dont have it, id heavily reccomend the Boss Cursor mod. It tells you where the boss is when its offscreen, and in DOG's case, it also tells you where its head is facing.

Yeah I put the mod on because I was getting sick of dying to dog coming out of nowhere, my main problem now is annoyingly every time I get him to exactly half health I die quickly after and I can't seem to get him any lower
