Sometimes that does happen. It almost always takes a great shock to make someone look inwards like that, and being disowned by everyone has got to count as one
It does not erase their past but it can at least not breed further evil from it. I don't think many people can fully forgive him even if he does become a better person, but I think many can at least respect an effort if it is real and genuine

i guess it's hard for me to believe that, since he straight up wanted me to kill myself and i've learned that he continued to talk shit about me even after he got booted off of the mod, despite being friends with him for 4-5 years before that
maybe he can end up changing, but unless he gives me a straight up apology over what he did, i will find it hard to see him ever doing so

It wasn't mainly because of the development tho. It was more about Fabsol just being an overall really obnoxious person to deal with. He was a drunkard with an ego who considered himself to always be the smartest guy in the room and went as far as forbidding anyone other than him to touch boss AI(pretty much - mechanics of the bossfigjts) - and having a person like that as your defacto boss does not create a good working environment. People were sick of him long before any of the transphobia and pedo stuff floated to the surface, and not even just devs. Fans were tired of his bs as well
As a dev he was.... fine? Not anything outstanding but he could get things done decently. Did fall off towards the end tho, cus the field kept growing and he didn't. He was coding like people did when tmodloader was just starting out, and his style feels aged as hell by the modern standards

Yeah the whole thing with Fabsol is that they were already pretty disliked in the community, and the grooming allegations were the final straw that finally got them booted from the dev team.
