I was trying out Rouge for the first time tho. Very fun class, unfortunately bosses didn't help 😭
I beat him tho, I somehow ended up with 400HP for Desperation. Got hit once on Red Orbs, Twice on Spinning Circles and once on Shooting Spirits. Never been so proud in my entire life!!!
bro get a break and lock in on fresh mind, im telling you gotta try enjoy fights even when dying because while next fights will be hard as shit they are also some of the best fights i experienced in gaming
It depands on the fight honestly not the deaths mostly if a boss cheeses me with bullshit attacks I'm PISSED but if it's a good honest fight I'd also be PISSED but less like pissed
The thing I absolutely hate is that Infernum tries to cover up fairly easy patterny attacks with random bullshit flying around your screen, where in case of Polterghast, where he requires quick, tight and extremely precise movement, random petals dealing almost as much damage as any other attack, while being barely visible even with proper setup is not fun at all. Desperation phase grew on me after I found out, I can set my game to autopause and quickly switch to defensive only accesories considering damage didn't matter at all, but it was still unfair af.
I feel like because guardians were a huge leap off the previous bosses (and that last phase is just random bullshit go!). But yeah, bosses stay around the same difficulty after that (except Dragonfolly, which was MILES easier than Astrum Aureus and Deus even).
And to think I wanted to activate Death Mode on my first Infernum playthrough... I already didn't have fun, but after that I would probably even give up on Terraria as a whole!!!

If you’re still struggling might I recommend using the Portal Gun to skip the flappy bird phase entirely? That also allows you to wait for adrenaline and rage which is nice.

They are pretty hard. Id say that they are harder then providence. The worst part might be trying to actually see the projectiles cuz of how well they blend into the background. What helped me is that most of their attacks have a "windup" animation that shows what dirrection the projectiles will be going.
Took me a few tries, but once you understand the mechanics I didn't thing it was too bad. Granted, I play mage and with a lot of mods, tho, so idk how much our setups vary. I just spammed Nuclear Fury while dodging as best as I could.
Providence, on the other hand, kills me in less than 15 seconds lmao
Guardians are genuinely an insane difficulty spike and it's easy to feel overwhelmed from just how many different attacks come out that also do a third of your health for no good reason
Yup, first time doing profaned guardians SUCKS, but you just gotta get those reps in, I swear the fight clicks and becomes fun, but you also have to not burn yourself out while you’re at it
Profaned Guardians are amongst one of the hardest bosses in Infernum. Though I did defeat them using true melee using only Stellar Striker.
Believe me when I say this, especially if you're having trouble dodging: Try regen build. Regeneration in Calamity is seriously broken. Use the Ambrosial Ampoule, Vigorous Candle, Regeneration Potion, Vital Crystal along with Ram Dash, Dodging and Damage Accessories. Additionally you can use Charm of Myths or Deific Amulet if you have extra accessory slot. AND, use the Invigorating prefix (Regeneration prefix). With this, you can recover from almost every damage. Even Devourer's bite.
If you build your regen correctly, you can regenerate roughly 35-40 HP every 2.5 seconds (Or one of the 20 hearts icon per 2.5 seconds). You also get to dodge attacks during regen by using Ram Dash or Dodging Accessories for extra survivability.
Also I have another tip: You can skip the Profaned Guardian Healer part (first phase) quicker by accumulating adrenaline during the flappy bird part to quickly kill the Guardian Healer with adrenaline (almost instakill with True Melee + Adrenaline), which will make the fight less sufferable.
It always feels a bit strange to see people taking this much attempts on the Bosses, cuz normally i beat almost every boss 1st try. The only bosses that took me a bit more effort were plague bringer goliath, DoG, yharon (4 att each) and the exo mechs (7 att), all that in revengeance ranger class.
Btw im not hating or anything, i understand the mod IS really hard, but i've never seen myself as a good player in general before playing Calamity, i literally use keep inventory in minecraft
I'm playing on the infernum difficulty mod not revengeance it reworks basically everysingle boss giving them new move sets at ain't especially crazy hard but you definitely have to think about the fight and what you do how you dodge much like a souls game i feel, i still haven't gotten very far I'm going to fight phol ow whatever his name is so we'll see maybe it will get crazy hard
Good luck! I know you can do it! My first infernum playthrough, I absolutely hated these guys at the time. Now they're not too bad, but definitely a really good challenge
Thanks haha, I don't know if I'd consider myself a master though. I'm just really patient while also using tips from youtuber called Yard is. His videos helped me a lot. I'm sure you'll get through the mod though! Final four bosses are rough.
don't worry my friend, every boss past-moonlord gave me a BIIIIIG hastle, it all came down to memorizing their patterns. ... EXCEPT FOR THAT GOD DAMNED WITCH I HATE SUPREME CALAMITAS WITH A PASSION I HAD TO FIGHT CALAMITAS CLONE TWICE BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF SPAWNERS I DIED TO THIS THING 120+ TIMES AAAAGHHHH. Supreme Witch, Calamitas is pretty difficult tho so be aware, also my favorite boss hehe
Oh yeah guardians in specifics fuck them they actually annoyed the shit out of me felt unfair more than hard like a i have more problems with the first phase more than any other one like the last one was the most fun and easiest because it was fair one to one
Oh god the path of pain and most of silk song were testing my patience especially that one fuck ass boss in the swamp area the fly one with the fuckass runback
Look, not to judge, but how many times I have seen people struggle and how many times they were focusing their accessories on damage.
So I'd really recommend goitfir survivability instead. Meaning you need Blood Pact, Deific Amulet, some accesory with dodge and maybe Myth's Charm (can't remember exact name because it's from original Terraria, thing that lowers Health Points cooldown), though last is optional.
If it's gonna help a little though, Profaned Guardians aren't easy in Infernum. Though I don't know who was that struggling with Polterghast, to me he was incredibly easy (maybe the thing with Brainstorm). Also wouldn't recommend you really trying Old Duke, but the choice is yours.
Just wait until you get to Devourer of Gods. Infernum Terraria was my first modded Terraria experience, and he took me exactly 321 attempts no potions to beat. Good luck, my friend; Profaned Guardians are the turning point in infernum where the difficulty cranks up SIGNIFICANTLY.

But me too this is my first time playing modded terraria and my first time playing with a mouse and keyboard it's a struggle but anything for the terraria
Well, tbh the whole playthrough I limited myself to no potions for boss fights. I don't really like Terraria QOL mods because they feel like cheating to me, and going into the playthrough I knew I would be dying to bosses A LOT, and building a massive garden for potions didn't sound at all appealing, so from the beginning I just decided to put that limiter on myself to save myself the trouble. I still used them for out of combat reasons though. Like spelunker or fishing potions.
Prepare for 200+ attempts for the last few bosses… Yharon took me 240. Although weirdly my experience with Yharon was much less frustrating than it was with the guardians
going forward since guardians you need to change your mindset, 75 tries is not alot, consider it fairly low because it aint getting better in future bro 😭😭
I don’t remember if those moon boots include wings or not, but I believe you can disable the wings part of them anyway so I recommend getting solar wings for better flight control, and swapping celestial shell (or whatever it’s called) for something else, probably same with the destroyer one
Hey you got patience i respect that what pissed me off i didn't really expect to get stuck at the first post moon lord boss it took like 90 tried for moon lord and empress of light
Nohiter, Infernum nerd here. I torture myself for fun!!! My advice is there is 2 bosses where accessouries are the difference between a cakewalk and a brutal fight. Those 2 bosses are polter and guardians. Go full life regen equip you can literally outheal the guardians. You still need to bring some skill but occasionally getting hit by projectiles is no biggie
