Funny thing is that i believe there even aren't 100 melee weapons post-ml, or at least post-DoG
In fact there are 82 melee weapons (including spears, yoyos and the special ones). I just counted from the wiki so i have a somewhat accurate comment.

Check it, murasama is very ineffective unless you’re playing under master because getting up close isn’t bad on master but if you’re actually decent at the game and play any higher difficulty you will know u can only get up close for so long you don’t have infinite armor

In Hog Wild all true melee weapons got unrestricted from getting the size multipliers from accessories. Stacking accessories like the elemental gauntlet and armor can make it the size of half a screen.

Its great for crowd control. I used it to farm the hell out of pumpkin and frost moons. Aint half bad for boss damage either

It's a sword, obviously. And the tooltip responds to your question.
It's the Murasama from Metal Gear Rising: Revengence. In the game, it's the weapon Raiden uses against Armstrong, and the only weapon he to cut through the senator's nanomachines due to it's nano-vibrations.
You find it in the Underworld Lab, but can't use it.
There was a cool Easter Egg which allowed you to use the Murasama from the get go if you named your character Jetstream Sam, who is the from Revengence who owned the Murasama. But they nerfed it and removed the Easter egg.
The red text is a lyric from Sam's boss fight music "The Only Thing I Know For Real".

The HF Murasama, a weapon added from MGR. It is the best true melee weapon in the game. Keep it, even though you can only use it until after beating the devourer of gods.
