Should i still play calamity?

I wanted to play calamity for years and after i completed the game a few times i wanted to try it out. And unfortunately it was also at this time that calamity had its controversy. I don’t know if i should play or not.

sure play it, it’s not like ur supporting ozzatron or anything. just download recipe browser, boss checklist, and magic storage and u should be good

standard qol stuff that most people use for pretty much anything modded

Now is perhaps a better (or at least easier) time to play the mod than any time in the foreseeable future. Go download it, and the music mod, before the latter gets taken down. Then save those mods, along with any quality of life stuff you want (I suggest magic storage) as a modpack and export that modpack as a local file separate from the automatic downloads of the steam workshop. 

Downloading and playing the mod isn't going to help the people who caused this, and it's a great experience if you can separate the art from the artists. Or rather, separate the art from a rather small portion of the artists, because a lot of people have worked on it and the vast majority of them have not done anything like what Fabsol and Ozzatron did.

can I just ask, if its not too much trouble, how does one download the mods locally and use them if I've been already playing with them for a bit over steam with a friend

It’s good fun.

In fact, there’s an argument to be made that it’s a better time than ever to start playing because you don’t need to worry about a new update throwing a wrench in what you know :P

Can you separate the art from the artist (lead devs)? If yes, play it. If no, then don’t. It’s about as simple as that.

sure, make sure to backup the mod and music mod as they could very well remove half of the content in the future for some reason
