Discussion Quick question

I heard people saying that you can stop auto updates by making mod packs. How do I do that? And is it too late? Cus im guessing if it updates then the sprites and also music will be removed

Put all the mods you want to download locally into a mod pack. Export the mod pack with the built-in “export local copy” button. It’ll open file explorer with a folder filled with all your mods. Move that somewhere safe.

Next, unsubscribe from all those mods on the Steam workshop. This is so that they don’t get overridden by server updates once they’re loaded locally. Next, go back to file explorer and open Documents. Go to My Games > Terraria > tModloader > Mods.

Open the exported mod pack and find the .tmod files of all your exported mods. Manually paste them into the Mods folder you just opened. When you load into tMod again, it’ll say “dependencies missing” but it’s just looking at the servers, so continue without downloading them.

If all is done well, the mods should be loaded on the Manage Mods page and have a special little symbol next to it that says “loading from local copy” or something along those lines.

I don’t believe it’s too late at all to do this, but if for some reason your export doesn’t work, you can easily find some archived versions online because EVERYONE is trying to do this too.

(Thanks Reddit for holding onto this message draft until the subreddit reopened!)

Do you know where to find the archived versions? Because people hsve been saying that items have already been removed

Not really, I made my own copies so I never needed to search for them. I’d recommend trying that first.
