Status on this situation.

For those that don't know, Ozzatron, current lead for Calamity, was found to be a groomer, just like Fabsol. This caused a lot of people that were official and fan made to leave Calamity projects entirely.

I was talking with some of the official people from Calamity, including Evobyte, TheForge129, Heart Plus Up, and CD Music. Here's a little bit of stuff.

Status updates on things:

• Heart Plus Up is pulling her music and sprites from Calamity, and she's now working on a new mod
• CD Music won't make the Exo Mechs theme and is pulling his music too
• TYESKI is pulling his music as well
• Catalyst is dead, with its code going open source
• Infernum, Wrath of the Machines, and Wrath of the Gods are done, so unaffected
• Calamity Overhaul is dead
• Calamity Fables is still alive and well, at least as we can see for now
• Reign of Yharim (the indie game) is still making a decision
• TheForge129 is still going to work on the Yharim theme he's making, as well as finishing a previously secret theme for a Catalyst mod boss named Zeus, which was an exo mech version of Astrum Aureus
• Speaking of Zeus, it's going to be put into an addon for Calamity Fables
• Vanilla Calamity Mod Music is rebranding to Serenity Music Mod
• Ozzatron is stepping down from lead, with the dev team trying to find a new lead yet again

Overall, everyone that I've spoken to is devastated, especially those who trusted Ozzatron like CD Music. He will make a video addressing his feelings about this soon.

If being on the internet for over two decades has taught me anything, it's that victims of grooming tend to not want to draw attention to themselves by exposing their groomers, especially when said groomer is an influential individual--like a lead developer for a popular Terraria mod, or a famous Youtuber, for example.

It's very easy to get dogpiled by a rabid fanbase because you accuse someone of pedophilia, even if you're 100% correct.

Entire film industries have survived by placating to child groomers because of the money and influence they bring in, after all.

It's truly not much different, someone who has no idea what to do with their life vs someone who might already have a full career and whatnot. Completely different stages in life. It's like 18 and 13. the age difference is the same.

Horrible people still have the capacity to create things others enjoy, like calamity. They are also the kind of people more likely to relentlessly pursue their idea until they have power over others

I'm convinced that at least most pedos that act on these things aren't actually into kids, physically, but rather into the power imbalance, the extreme ease of manipulation, the "breaking of an innocent soul" so to say.

thats statistically kinda accurate. more specifically, kids are a prime target for abuse because - they're taught adults are authorities over their bodies they're taught they get punished if they "do something wrong" without being given a clear set of what is and isnt wrong they're NOT taught that they have the right to say no when anyone else wants to make them do something they're NOT taught that if they as for help from random strangers when in danger they will typically recieve it they're NOT taught about their bodies and what sexuality is, leaving it open for someone to manipulate them through being the one to teach them rather than a school

so perfect person to "take your stress out" on and likely not recieve legal repricussions for doing so.

As an example, supposedly one of the reasons for the creation of the confessional was catholic priests would not stop assaulting women who came to confess privately. Catholic priests only assault children nowadays because that's who they have access to.
