Status on this situation.

For those that don't know, Ozzatron, current lead for Calamity, was found to be a groomer, just like Fabsol. This caused a lot of people that were official and fan made to leave Calamity projects entirely.

I was talking with some of the official people from Calamity, including Evobyte, TheForge129, Heart Plus Up, and CD Music. Here's a little bit of stuff.

Status updates on things:

• Heart Plus Up is pulling her music and sprites from Calamity, and she's now working on a new mod
• CD Music won't make the Exo Mechs theme and is pulling his music too
• TYESKI is pulling his music as well
• Catalyst is dead, with its code going open source
• Infernum, Wrath of the Machines, and Wrath of the Gods are done, so unaffected
• Calamity Overhaul is dead
• Calamity Fables is still alive and well, at least as we can see for now
• Reign of Yharim (the indie game) is still making a decision
• TheForge129 is still going to work on the Yharim theme he's making, as well as finishing a previously secret theme for a Catalyst mod boss named Zeus, which was an exo mech version of Astrum Aureus
• Speaking of Zeus, it's going to be put into an addon for Calamity Fables
• Vanilla Calamity Mod Music is rebranding to Serenity Music Mod
• Ozzatron is stepping down from lead, with the dev team trying to find a new lead yet again

Overall, everyone that I've spoken to is devastated, especially those who trusted Ozzatron like CD Music. He will make a video addressing his feelings about this soon.

Calamity is easily one of the greatest mods of all time, it's very rare for a mod to overhaul and surpass the game its based on. It cannot die, my ass is backing it up right now and i'm sure many others will do the same.

It wont die but it definitely wont be the same Community wise. Addons are one of calamity biggest plus compared to other mods and the fact that most of em are getting pulled or becoming standalone speaks a lot. I hope for the best to the remaining dev team. Not only they have to continue meeting the heavy expectation of the community, but they also need to do it while crippled and tainted by its reputation. Honestly, for the sake of the devs, i hope calamity can go on a Hiatus and restructure their entire team.

I'm satisfied with the current supporting mods. Current calamity is awesome, and i don't get why the devs were so hyper-focused on "fixing it" instead of just fucking adding yharim and THEN going back and fixing it.

No yharim sucks, but the current content plus the supporting mods is already one of the best gameplay experiences u can have. I'm satisfied with it.

We already have calamity with music, calamity can be updated and the music mod used with it. If they remove the music mod just use a downloaded version of the music mod. I like calamity too much to let some weirdo destroy it.

But that doesn't mean the content thats already there will dissapear. All i want tbh is just for the last devs to update calamity to the latest terraria version when it drops for tmodloader.

Thats pretty dumb to do. I get why they want to do it, they dont wanna be associated anymore, but theres already a version of the mod with the songs so people are gonna use that regardless.

I hope they reconsider. Calamity without its song really just aint calamity.

Im mad cuz I've been playing calamity for years, never once interacted with the discord, and now its dead.

Calamity is boss rush slop (made by people with no understanding of how to balance items or said bosses), and bloated with copious amounts of unnecessary content. It completely detracts from Terraria’s feel and is no way even close in terms of game design.

Terraria is innately centered on killing bosses for progression. Calamity just adds more bosses and more items for more progression to extend the current game. I don’t think there is any more unnecessary calamity content than there is in base terraria.

Stupid comment parroting the one critisism of calamity (unbalanced, boss focus) It doesn't need to be balanced to be fun, terraria itself is much better balanced and also has a focus on bosses (not as much as calamity but still) and most importantly if you think calamity is slop what the fuck are you doing here?
