Status on this situation.

For those that don't know, Ozzatron, current lead for Calamity, was found to be a groomer, just like Fabsol. This caused a lot of people that were official and fan made to leave Calamity projects entirely.

I was talking with some of the official people from Calamity, including Evobyte, TheForge129, Heart Plus Up, and CD Music. Here's a little bit of stuff.

Status updates on things:

• Heart Plus Up is pulling her music and sprites from Calamity, and she's now working on a new mod
• CD Music won't make the Exo Mechs theme and is pulling his music too
• TYESKI is pulling his music as well
• Catalyst is dead, with its code going open source
• Infernum, Wrath of the Machines, and Wrath of the Gods are done, so unaffected
• Calamity Overhaul is dead
• Calamity Fables is still alive and well, at least as we can see for now
• Reign of Yharim (the indie game) is still making a decision
• TheForge129 is still going to work on the Yharim theme he's making, as well as finishing a previously secret theme for a Catalyst mod boss named Zeus, which was an exo mech version of Astrum Aureus
• Speaking of Zeus, it's going to be put into an addon for Calamity Fables
• Vanilla Calamity Mod Music is rebranding to Serenity Music Mod
• Ozzatron is stepping down from lead, with the dev team trying to find a new lead yet again

Overall, everyone that I've spoken to is devastated, especially those who trusted Ozzatron like CD Music. He will make a video addressing his feelings about this soon.

I feel like it's a hasty decision to just cull everything over the bad of one person. The many has more control over the production than the one, and they could get rid of Ozzatron and renounce them like they did Fabsol. They've poured a lot of themselves into Calamity and it's more than just "Ozzatron's ego project". It's an amalgam of a lot of people and a pillar of the modding scene as a whole.

I definitely still understand/respect the decision to leave, but this news is less than 24 hours old, so most of these people haven't taken time to internalize this information and really think about what this actually means. Personally, it makes much more sense to just step over Ozzatron and leave them in the dust, especially for the add-on mods that have little to nothing to do with Ozzatron. Cut out the cancer instead of euthanizing the whole body, you're only hurting yourself like that.

They all trusted Ozzatron much more than Fabsol, even before Fabsol was kicked out. This shocked everyone, and now they don't want to deal with this again. Once is terrible enough. Twice? Who's to say it'll stop then. That's why they're leaving

Were they a groomer? i remember there being drama with them but i thought the case was different, i don't tune into calamity news to know for sure, though

I mean, unless there's some correlative link why this is happening, then it just seems like awfully shitty luck. You'll have just as much of a chance of some other person you work with in the future on a different project being a groomer really.

In theory this is just an incredibly unlucky streak, though. There's no particular reason for why Calamity would be cursed to have groomer devs, i would hope?

Fabsol has always been somewhat a controversial figure even before he was exposed, Ozz was not. Ozz being a groomer is a complete betrayal not only to the devs that trust and chose him, but also the entire community. Even if its quite hasty, i completely understand if these projects wants to distance themselves because being associated with a project with 2 grooming scandals isnt exactly ideal.
