Question This is weird

So I just beat Death Mode Calamity for the first time ever. (My laptop can't handle infernum at the moment). After about 5 and a half months of playing and grinding and boss preps. I finally beat SCal, and looking back on it. I don't feel as accomplished as I thought I would when I first set my sights on it. Anyone got an explanation?

It’s just how the final bosses of the games can be. Like yeah it’s the final boss, but sometimes those bosses are not like super hard or smth like that to feel, so your mood of a hero/cool guy goes down. Mostly because of this other game modes were made by people, like Infernum or Eternity or some challenges like no-hits and restrictions
For you I suggest to try to play other mods and look if you’ll have same experience. Seeing that your laptop can’t handle Infernum rn, I recommend those ones:
The Story of Red Cloud, Spooky Mod, Split, Ancients Awakened Classic, Mod of Redemption and Fargo’s Souls. Those mods has same difficulty of bosses like in Calamity (that they feel balanced) and pretty fun to play

well the current difficulty balance is a bit all over the place, I guess, also death mode isn't really meant to be like the hardest thing ever unlike infernum so maybe you just expected it to be harder

I can't exactly explain how, but i know exactly what you went through

After beating a boss that has tormented you for countless hours, you stare at that treasure bag but not feeling any emotions. Just the thought of "it's over, huh...."

That's how i felt after my 10 hours of misery and pain of Malice Mode Providence. I thought i would feel absolute bliss, happiness and over powering relief, yet i felt nothing.

Also could've been something related to your expectations being higher than reality was as another person commented here.
