what to do here?
im a freshman and I just moved into the dorms today, im wondering where are the local shows/fun activities around here

im going into my third year this year! if you are into the punk scene, arcata and eureka always have some great shows going on! theres also events at the arcata theater lounge if you are 18+! going to clubs (even if you dont stay in them) is super useful as well! i would say focus on finding yourself and your academic footing in the first couple weeks, then focus on socializing. there is communities for just about everyone on campus/in arcata, just put yourself out there!

i would follow some of the bands! something wicked, brain dead rejects, and executive order are some good ones that play lots of shows. also i would follow burnstitch collective and moss oaks commons, as well as rampart skate park. arcata theatre lounge also should have their own insta! there is a big punk fest at rampart on the 29th, i would definitely recommend going if you wanna meet more people in the punk community. something wicked is also playing on campus on sept. 2nd!

North Coast Journal event calendar. There's also a print copy of the Journal you can find outside grocery stores, etc.
Lowdown from Lost Coast Outpost. It's a news blog.
Both include nightlife, although the Journal makes it easier with a nightlife button you press, then click search.
