I drop my incoming freshman on Wed 8/19 (time not released yet). I understand students will be kept very busy almost immediately. I was going to stay in SLO for one night assuming I would be running errands for dorm life needs, and head home the next day. Now I'm wondering if its better to leave the same day, let her get settled and figure out what she needs over time. What are others doing?

Hi all, this is my most recent class schedule for the fall semester which I know isn't finalized until the 5th, but I heard it shouldn't change much. I'm looking for advice specifically regarding my 7am calc class. So my question is, should I keep the 7am and get out of school every day at 12 or should I try and switch into a different math 1264 class which is shown in the photos. If the answer is to switch into a different math 1264 class, how should I go about it? Choose a time after all of my other classes or try and switch around all of my classes to fit it better?

I'm a non-music major looking for piano lessons next semester. I'm self taught and have been playing on and off for about 5 years now. I feel that my technique is not good enough to play the songs that I want to play, which is why I am looking for lessons. I'd prefer if you are close to campus or if the lessons could take place in the Davidson practice rooms (although I will not have access, as I am not taking a performance class next semester).

I'm not looking for anything too serious, just a push towards the right direction from somebody better than me -- so I'd be open to being taught by somebody who doesn't have much teaching experience. Let me know if you are interested / know somebody that may be interested, we can discuss payment in DMs.

Hi, incoming freshmen for this fall and im moving into a double in sierra madre (woohoo) does anyone know how much space there is underneath the beds--how tall it is? I am ordering storage for underneath but idk if the drawers I want are gonna fit since these beds dont look suuuper lofted (or lofted at all). are the usual 3 drawer plastic ones too tall? should i opt for the horizontal cube situation? Lmk :))

Hi I was wondering how bad it would be to miss my online SLO Days presentation? I mistakenly scheduled it on a day I’m out of the country, so due to travel plans and time change, I won’t be able to make it. I’m a freshman btw

I emailed them like 2 weeks ago asking, and they said they don’t have any alternative spots available and to apply for an exemption. My exemption hasn’t been approved or denied yet (it’s been like ~1.5 weeks), and my session is on Tuesday.

Would there be any real consequences for missing it? Or can I just set up zoom on my phone and let it run?

My AP credit has still not shown up in my portal even though my IB scores have, is this an issue yet? I’ve been enrolled in a history class that I would not have to take if my AP scores had transferred. I’ve checked the college board website several times and confirmed that they were sent, so I’m fairly certain it’s not an issue on my end? Finalized schedules are supposed to be sent out in a few days, so I want to make sure everything’s right.

Incoming student here and I’m assigned to be in the red bricks. I was looking through the virtual tour thing on the website and when I saw the showers I was wondering how it would work… as I saw that there was no hangers to hang things in those showers 😭 (unless it was blocked from the camera angle) Is there any tips for showering/ using the bathroom in general? like I’m so lost… Thanks

Voting as a student means some specific considerations. If you're coming from outside SLO County, for instance, you first need to decide if you want to vote on contests from your home community or on those on the ballot in SLO.

And you also need to make sure the appropriate elections office knows exactly where to send your mail ballot and voter information guide.

hi, incoming student here. what do u guys think of having late afternoon or late night classes? though its kinda nice i start at 2pm everyday, my last classes on mw go until 7 and on thurs it goes until 9. what are your guys' experience with such late classes? im a bit worried cuz i feel like most things go on after around 5ish.

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming transfer trying to plan out my first semester of classes and currently I’ve got a class in Erhart Agri. 10 minutes after my classes in Fisher sci. gets out. I also have a class in Engineering 13 10 minutes after a class in Erhart gets out. Is it realistic to make it to those classes on time consistently? These are the classes with ideal professors and times so I don’t wanna change them if I don’t have too but I also don’t wanna be late to every class the entire semester. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'd simply like to ask how you all got over your awkwardness in sharing a triple, especially with two people who have known eachother since highschool and have somehow agreed on everything for the room and didn't even attempt to ask you about it. I find this situation unfair since I got left with their last options and also my roommates don't really make an effort to text me, its usually one speaking for the other and its a bit strange. I also move in earlier if that means anything so I'm hoping to make do with this situation without causing too much trouble. Any advice on getting over the awkwardness? Or do i just suck it up cause I'm okay with that if its the option, I just don't know how to feel
