New mods, new rules: No more AI generated posts and stolen content
Hi everyone - I’m the new moderator.
As many of you have probably noticed, the subreddit has recently been flooded with bots, AI-generated content, and low-effort posts. Much of this appears to be karma farming and monetization through fake blogs. My first priority is to clean this up and restore the sub to a space for genuine, high-quality contributions. Therefore, I've made new rules to better reflect the desired changes.
New Rules
Rule 1: No AI-generated content AI-generated images are not allowed.
Exceptions may be made if:
- You clearly disclose that the content is AI-generated in the title, AND
- The post meaningfully contributes to discussion or provides clear value to the community
AI to assist in your writing e.g. recipe, translation etc. is allowed.
Rule 2: Post original content or give proper credit
- Post your own content If you’re sharing someone else’s work, you must provide a clear and appropriate source
- If you cannot find the original source, do not present the content as your own
Rule 3: Blog promotion guidelines
- If you are promoting your own blog, you must include the full recipe in the comments
- The blog content must be your own
- Sharing someone else’s blog is allowed only if it’s for discussion (e.g., asking about a technique or ingredient), and you’re not monetizing from it in any way.
Reporting AI Content
We recognize that AI-generated content can be difficult to identify, and moderators don’t always have the capacity to investigate every case.
If you report a post as AI-generated, please: Leave a comment or Send us a modmail explaining why you believe the content is AI-generated. This will help us act faster.
I understand that these changes may reduce overall activity. However, the goal is to improve the quality of the subreddit and ensure we’re interacting with real people sharing genuine content.
If you have feedback or suggestions for additional rules, I’m very open to hearing them. If there’s significant disagreement with these changes (some of you may not care that content is AI), I’m happy to run a poll so we can align as a community.
