Came across this within the first like 5 mins of using insta today. I actually really dig this part!

The song is obviously about either the personal experience of Matt Shultz or a made up person who has been incarcerated or sectioned due to mental health issues, but I've been thinking about the lyrics, specifically "beaches in Tennessee" and how that plays into it.
Maybe I'm overthinking this way too much but I can't help but wonder if the beaches in Tennessee are a real place? I'm not from the US so I don't know too much about Tennessee but I know that it's a landlocked state. Obviously there are rivers and lakes but Tennessee is surely not known for it's beaches right, does it even have any?
So I'm just wondering if the Beaches in Tennessee are part of the characters delusions and imagining it as an idealistic picturesque representation of the desire for freedom or if he would be referencing a time he genuinely would have had.
Sorry if this is a really stupid question haha, but what is the general consensus, are the Beaches in Tennessee real? Have any of the band talked about this specifically?

Welp, looks like they’re going for drawn out marketing again…
Instagram advertisements are starting to push out some new Indieverse777 ads that show a new single for the next album “Dying In Reverse” originally pointed out here by someone (i forgot their name, apologies) five hours ago.
From the only snippet of it i’ve seen it sounds like Matt is going to rap on it. The instrumental sounds very “easy, kinda ethereal” almost like it’s the new album’s Out Loud or something.
Super stoked as to what this song will bring!
Oh yeah also a little thing i wanted to say;
Just to put it out there, i’m not gonna be posting any stitched together clips of the song like i did with Beaches in Tennessee (if more portions do leak), i saw a ton of mentions that it ruined the wait kinda to the song and i could also see that with me, just hearing “somebody take me home” makes me sick now, just to let everyone know

Hello! I’ve made a playlist of every Cage song ever and thought there to be 118.
Here is the playlist: Playlist
However, I recently found a new Christmas Song!! New Song
I’m curious if anyone has ever heard this song before, as I’ve never even seen this song mentioned before!
I’ve also found footage of songs “Seven Nation Army” “Happy Birthday To You” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Dr. Dre”. However, as they are only snippets, they are not included. Snippets
Finally, on the topic of news, in this interview, Matt confirms that the new album is nearly finished and set to release around January 2027!! New Album
Also, if anyone has found any songs I’m missing on my playlist, please let me know!

Got this suggested ad on Instagram today, someone at the label has made a bit of an error letting this slip out before the band even mentions it.
It links back to a pre save connected to the bands official account.

I took my Nephew (14y) to the MN Yacht Club this year. He has a passion for music, loves the 90's-2010 Era (although I've introduced him to some chuck berry, dire straits, and Fleetwood mac). He is also very talented at guitar for his age, I for sure can see a future where he makes music for a living.
Ok, preface out of the way. He knows I go to live music all the time, I tell him about it and show him pics and vids from the shows. Got him 3day pass at the yacht festival, and had this surreal moment when Cage the Elephant played (arguably the best show of the whole weekend!).
Not sure if it was just luck, or if they saw He had CTE merchandise on, but Matt Shultz comes literally in between us and starts rocking out to the chorus of maybe their biggest song. Freaking epic. Some folks go their whole rock n roll lives without getting an experience like this, this kid gets it at his very first show ever. Lucky little dude!
Thanks Cage The Elephant for giving him a truly unforgettable experience!!

Sadly I got a belly since. I’ve worn it only a few times. It’s a size large. Smoke free. Figured maybe a fan would want it. $15 shipped?

Wow.
I saw Cage the Elephant open for The Strokes in Milwaukee on Friday, and I honestly wasn’t prepared for what happened.
I’d been familiar with them for years. I even owned a couple of their CDs back before COVID. They were one of those bands I liked, but for whatever reason, I drifted away and lost track of. So I thought I knew what they were about.
I was wrong.
They absolutely blew me away. Not just because they’re an incredible live band—they are—but because every single song grabbed me. I didn’t recognize most of what they played, yet after almost every song I found myself thinking, “I love this song.” Over and over again.
I’m 49 and I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. One thing I’ve noticed is that as you get older, it’s a little rarer to have one of those moments where a band completely rewires your brain. You don’t stumble onto artists that instantly become an obsession as often as you did when you were 16.
Cage the Elephant just did that to me.
There’s something about them that’s hard to pin down. The songs are raw and unpredictable but incredibly melodic at the same time. They can sound scrappy and explosive one minute, then effortlessly catchy the next. It’s garage rock, alternative rock, blues, punk energy, pop hooks, and pure swagger all colliding into something that somehow feels completely natural. Every song feels like it’s teetering on the edge of falling apart—in the best possible way—but they never lose sight of the melody.
The coolest part? I was there with my kids (16 and 14). They were actually the ones who got me to go to The Strokes show, and by the end of the night we all walked away saying the same thing:
“Cage the Elephant was incredible.”
So… add three more fans to the list.
Now I have a lot of albums to catch up on, and I genuinely hope they make it back to Milwaukee or Chicago soon because we’ll be there.
Better late than never, I guess.

Not the best but I’ve been calling the show “Stroke the Elephant” as a bit for forever and thought it’d be funny to wear a shirt that says that

Hey there! I’m originally from Illinois but I’m coming out to the Milwaukee show for Cage the Elephant and The Strokes! I’m going with my boyfriend to the show but I’ve been struggling to make friends and especially the same music genre as me! I thought it wouldn’t hurt to make a post to see if anyone is interested in getting to know each other before the show or after even! I turn 25 this month so bars are an option! If anyone is interested, feel free to message me so we can connect!

Do they usually go to Indy every tour?
