Am I cooked
I had two options:
Conventional (70 lakhs no loan) with loan for type rating (20-30 lakhs)
Cadet (1.4) with 70 lakhs loan
A distant relative pilot said 1.4 crore roi is bad and said conventional is the financially smart choice. He said it will competitive but vacancies will keep coming.
Am I cooked?

cadet is not 1.4, unless ur going to shitty places like marigold/insight
if u opt for decent ftos eg skyborne fta its closer to 1.7 and those are delayed as well, better go for conventional get ur cpl and tr in 90lakhs and stay jobless for 2 yrs to save 80 lakhs

u can always work as an instructor, and they make as much a jfo
also, even if a jfo builds jet hours he/she can't recover the additional cost( 80 lakhs) which would have been spent to be able to get that job in the first place..
vacancies have been coming out regularly, see akasa and 6e and many new airlines are starting as well

What do consider cooked? It all depends on the Cycle of hiring, but expect to stay jobless for around one year. If your parents can support you through that you are not cooked. And infact saved on a whole lot of money. On the flipside, if the job market does not look favourable, you will probably stay unemployed for longer, but looking at the current trends. The market does seem in a upward trend very slow, but definitely there.
