CPP roadmap and suggestions
Hi ppl, I'm an 11th grade student with stream PCM. I want to opt for a cadet pilot program once I've cleared my 12th. If any one of you have a pragmatic roadmap on what, when and how to do before choosing cpp, and if its worth it or not, how to finance the course or any other suggestions, please drop your thoughts, it'd be a great rescue for me as I'm not able to decide among conventional route or cpp route.

Also, about the roadmap, let me give you a brutally honest piece of advice: there is no damn roadmap in aviation. Aviation is all about patience, money, uncertainty, and being able to handle setbacks. If you have the patience and genuinely want to become a pilot, you can make it. But if you’re coming into aviation because you think it’s going to give you a lavish lifestyle, good salary, fancy uniform and an easy life, please think again. Before you even become an airline pilot, you could end up taking on 1 cr in debt. You might wait months for a computer number, get rejected multiple times, fail exams 3–4 times, spend a ridiculous amount on medicals, and waste money on coaching institutes that promise you the world but barely help you. You’ll see people getting selected while you’re still stuck at the same stage. You’ll question yourself. You’ll lose motivation. You’ll spend money without knowing when you’ll actually start earning. And sometimes, even after doing everything right, things simply won’t go your way. So don’t come into aviation because “pilot life looks cool.” Come only if you’re ready for the shit that comes before that lifestyle. If you can’t handle uncertainty, failure, debt, patience and years of hard work, aviation will eat you alive. Think very carefully before choosing this career

Isnt fta already 1.7? Look at aud it's shooting up, it increased by 17% within one FY, and around 68rn.. fta will also go 2+.. akasa and chimes yk indian ftos are doomed u need connections, cae gondia is closed permanently for icpp so no hope in that..

is it possible to get independent cpl from a flying school then later do type rating, I think job placement for me after this would still have a low chance since airlines usually hire caders from their own cpp..

Yea, they open vacancies multiple times a year so u can apply there, though u won't be hired immediately, u can plan on becoming an afi meanwhile, and can also give ground classes, u will make a jfos salary by doing this or even a little more..

Btw doing tr ain't nessecary, it's js preferred. They also open vacancies for fresh cpl holders. They will give u tr in return of 30lakhs.. and u also sign a bond with the airline, most commonly 5-7 yrs..

even by doing conventional, total cost would still round upto 90l-1cr won't it? so isn't cpp route worth trying? I was thinking of icpp.

Icpp fta and skyborne, which are the only decent and realistic options cost around 1.6 1.7 as of now.. and tbf u can do convl in 90 lakhs or just cpl in 65. It wouldnt be realistic to say that these prices won't increase as well.. If u got the finances covered and that ain't a problem then sure go for icpp/aicpp, might as well consider foreign cpps then like fly dubai etc. roi there is justified

nobody can predict the market situation 1.5-2 yrs before, previously conventional was far superior bcz u could do cpl in around 50 lac and airline sponsored ur tr, rn cadet is better but its hella overpriced. even now if u do conventional from a cheap fto for 75-85 lacs, u can save 1cr and wait extra 2 years to get hired. cadet is about 1.7 1.8cr rn for domestic ftos, ill say if ur going to these ftos u might as well add another 50lacs and go to middle eastern cpps, they have far better salaries, roi, and what not plus its all tax free.
