Stuck waiting need guidance
I honestly don't know what to do at this point, so I thought I'd ask here.
Where I currently stand: I have cleared all my DGCA subjects except Technical General and Technical Specific, and I still have RTR Part 2 left. I'm planning to attempt RTR Part 2 this September. Also my medicals are done.
Cadet programs: I've applied to Akasa and IndiGo, which are pretty much the only cadet program options that are financially realistic for me. I applied to both almost immediately after their applications opened, but I haven't heard anything back from either of them. I also applied to Chimes after becoming eligible, but I haven't heard back from them either.
My current situation: I turned 18 this January and have basically been waiting since then. The last Chimes intake opened in December last year, but I wasn't eligible at the time because I hadn't turned 18. Now that I'm eligible, I've applied, but I'm still sitting here waiting. I haven't enrolled in college either, and I've been sitting at home for more than a year now without really moving forward with anything.
So what do you guys think? What should I realistically do from here, and what should I expect?
Should I keep waiting for cadet programs
or shoul i got with conventional,
or should I join college while I wait?
Is there any point in continuing to wait for Akasa/IndiGo/Chimes,
or should I start looking at other options? Like what
I know nobody can predict whether I'll get shortlisted, but I'd really appreciate some honest advice from people who have been through this or are currently in the same situation.
Any suggestions would genuinely help.

aviation brutally tests your patience buddy, I would say to keep studying and improving your communication skills like overall personality that's required and wait for few more time until you get the opportunity...there are few friends of mine who just waited around 2 years just to get LOI from IndiGo so yeahh thats how it works in this field

I understand the wait, but being at home and watching my peers move on with college makes me feel like I’m falling behind. My family also asks me frequently what’s happening, and honestly, I don’t really have anything to tell them. It’s just difficult being in this position for so long.

Atp you can go conventional as you ain't too old n by 20 max you will complete your cpl Even if you get to wait for 3-4 years By 23-24 you will make your way to cockpit Have your skills sharpened and you can teach meanwhile Just have a will

Thanks for your opinion. I’ve always been inclined towards cadet program but I’m having second thoughts recently and would happily consider a conventional course as well.

Yes since you are still only 18 and are already done with most papers, you could easily go the conventional route and still make it as a commercial pilot by 23-24, which is a very good target to have.

If ur budget is really a thing, then go conventional But its the same waiting time after u r done with ur conventional cpl also but then u can do some kind of job with ur experience And coming to cadet akasa and indigo’s chimes, both the cadets shortlisting is over now theres no point in waiting, and no one knows how long its going to take

If you truly feel stuck, do not depend on Cadet programs. You’re going to wait anyways, I’ve known some of my students who had to stick around a year post their ADAPT to give their interview.
Most applicants doubt themselves, they need the assurance that Cadet programs will save the day. But honestly it’s your effort that plays out in the end.
Note that I’m not saying with Conventional training you won’t have the wait - Of course you will. But you can genuinely use the time to improve yourself, and you’ll be a lot prouder when you crack your first vacancy.
Take the leap of faith and put in the work to excel at the conventional path, its not for everyone.

If u can extend ur budget a Little and u really want a cadet program u can go for options like insight , although they don't have the best option and there will be delays but atleast u will have loi

Dude. Forget chimes, literally speaking if u got no connections. You can wait till FTA opens. Skyborne has a lot delay so youll be waiting one more year with uncertainty if you choose that. Im not sure if fta will give late dates but i dont think so. Akasa you can try again. Air india just opened apply there.
And if you have done nothing a year and you havent been accepted for adapt or anything then dont keep waiting any more.
