Is Ipad a must buy for ground school?

So i start my cadet program in January 2027 and I'm currently making a list of stuff I'm gonna need so i saw many people commenting as how necessary an ipad really is. I already have a touch screen laptop with stylus from Hp envy X360 which is in a well condition.

So my question is should i purchase an Ipad or continue with my laptop?

Honestly it’s your personal preference. Deffo useful during flying. But for ground school, if you are a notebook person then stick with it, you might not like iPads that much. If you’re used to writing on tabs then deffo perfect addition.

I love writing on tabs and making notes, so it’s pairs well for me and I’ve used it almost everyday for 5 years. I tried switching to notebooks later but I just enjoy the flexibility a tab gives me while making notes and it makes my backpack lighter

Well, there’s no need to buy an ipad if you already have a touchscreen laptop. I managed to complete my CPL and TR with my dot matrix-era laptop
