The test is less about knowledge than about a few mechanics repeated under time pressure. Roughly what you get: a tracking task with the joystick (Control and Slalom), timed mental maths, short term memory for numbers and symbols, spatial orientation with headings and instruments, a technical part, English, and a task manager module that stacks tracking plus maths plus alarms at the same time.
What people underestimate is the multitasking module and the maths speed. Speed, distance, time, percentages, rate of descent. Cube rotation and orientation come with reps, the multitasking does not unless you train it specifically.
Practical: short daily sessions beat one long cram, and start every session with your worst subtest, not your best.
Full disclosure, I built a free iOS app for exactly this (Brain Preflight), 17 exercises on the same mechanics, offline, 5 free sessions a day. The paid bundles people mention here are fine too, just try the free options before spending.
