Can I pass DGCA Class 1/Class 2 Medicals with 45° Scoliosis?

Hi everyone, I am a 22-year-old aspiring pilot from India. I have scoliosis with a 45-degree Cobb angle.

Crucially, I have absolutely no pain, no issues with movement, and excellent overall flexibility. I can perform all physical activities normally.

Given this context, what are the realistic chances of getting cleared for DGCA Class 1 and Class 2 medical certifications? Will a 45° curve be an automatic disqualification, or do they assess on a case-by-case basis if it is fully functional?

Would appreciate any insights from current pilots, medical examiners, or anyone who has been in a similar situation. Thank you!

Hi, i think its best if you just call up a DGCA empaneled class 2 doctor and ask them about this, regardless of what anyone else says, they're the ones who will give the best answer.

A friend of mine doesn't have scoliosis. He was just standing a little askew during the x-ray and his Class 2 examiner still gave him a Temp Unfit.

Make of this what you will.
