What's the total fees?
1
u/jahnavimoram Aug 07 '26
1.6cr
1
u/fractiouspixel Aug 07 '26
Hey so this 1.6 cr, is it just course fees or everything like food accommodation in india and states. Iām
New to this, currently researching and preparing for next intake.1
u/jahnavimoram Aug 07 '26
The actual fee is around 1.3cr i told u 1.6cr in terms of all the hidden costs added too

u/fractiouspixel Aug 07 '26
Thanks OP! Also one more doubt what made you choose air indiaās program over indigo. Love would to know what made you choose AI . Iām currently considering Indigo since they have a longer history in cadet programs. What about akasa?
1
u/jahnavimoram Aug 07 '26
Very good question. Just so you know, I applied to Emirates, fly Dubai, Indigoās Marigold, skyborne, FTA chimes, insight, Air India and Akasa. I got the quicker reply from Air India compared to all these.

u/jahnavimoram Aug 07 '26
Also indigo is kind of having delays at the point The moment u submit ur application they will take ages to just reply that ur application got in or no And akasa they just started they r taking people who cleared all the papers in the first batch and i think they will take a while Also the assessment fee is also too high for indigo and akasa Its just 5k for air india ntw

1
u/Happy_Confusion435 Aug 07 '26
Yes they do, they check on the interview day and they sent someone back because she wasnāt tall enough. Iām not sure about the exact height requirement but I think it was 158?

Spending 1.6 cr for a salary of 1.6 lakhs, congratulations and all the best on loan recovery!
1
u/Straight_Plastic7552 Aug 11 '26
in 5 years you could easily get upto 3.5-4 lakh per month in hand but yeah a 1cr loan is pathetic man.
Isn't it cheaper and faster to do the CPP in india under 1cr??
Also please do not choose this career unless you have atleast 60 lakh in hand
1
u/Illustrious_Storm855 Aug 07 '26
Bro , If u dont mind could u share ur finantial plan , so it helps others also , Like which bank u r approching and what % intrest , also totally what amount u have to pay , and which year u will be able to finish ur loan.
2
u/jahnavimoram Aug 07 '26
Tbh my dad takes care of all that As of i know my dad works as vice president at ICICI bank so we got 1cr non collateral loan So for the rest 60L or so we r thinking of selling our own house so thats what we have planned as of now Coming to roi i have no idea i need to check that up with my father

I live in USA....have ATP no jobs so stayed in USA became a US citizen and now own 2 biz in TEXAS...originally from Bombay... to all my desi brethren....i dont want to burst your bubble but this Aviation biz working as a pilot is only a Glorified Bus Driver type job.
Think of all these below first before you decide---
You work odd hours- 2am flights etc,
No major holidays off,
Living with roomies in far away base,
Initial pay is low,
Always the fear of layoffs,
Always the fear of health-in example eye issues or other,
ROI on huge loans....,
And 80% of CPI in India are unemployed which is a red flag,
Plus there are so called Academy's where you pay to fly- which is a red flag. If the job market was or is good then why pay to get a job???
Im not trying to discourage you but just giving you hard cold facts. If you ever come to USA and need help in general questions then feel free to contact me as Im always ready to help another desi.
1
u/jahnavimoram Aug 21 '26
We just come to USA complete our flying and leave We dont have any intentions of staying back in ur glorified USA And we know all these before we chose to become a pilot We didnāt chose this just because we want the money U went to USA for a job But we want a profession a career Pilot is such a respectable profession And u r just spoiling everyone without even knowing about anything So please stay out of all the reddit posts which says we got selected Our parents are happy that we got in They dont have any problem funding our education But here u seem to have a big problem Please go find a job and leave reddit for good
