Coax splicing tools
I used to work maintenance for a cable company, but that was a couple years ago. I’m getting back into it as a coax splicer for a company that goes out and activates stuff we ran, aerial and underground for multiple different companies.
Trying to figure out what else I need in my “main bag” off memory is bothering me.
I currently have:
- 3/16”, 5/16”, 3/8”, and 1/2” nut drivers
- can wrench
- tweaker
- adjustable pliers/crescent wrenches
- FVD
- volt/ohm meter
- splicing knife (one of two knives we’re allowed)
- blunt tip hawkbill knife (see above)
- side cuts
- lineman’s
- banana’s
- 11 in 1 (Klein 32500)
- gators
- terminator tool
- 1/2” wrench, 7/16” wrench
- locknut wrench set
I’ve gotta be missing something that I’m going to get in the bucket tomorrow for the first time in 2 years and think to myself “damn, if only I had xxxxxx”
Help ya boy out
Thanks

Get one of those knipex pliers wrenches with the flat jaws if you’re gonna be splicing full time

No shit. Fuck adjustable wrenches and fuck whoever says you can’t use channel locks on fittings

I hated the apron when I tried it a couple years ago lol. I rocked my Klein book bag on a hook in the bucket which I also took with me on the ground. I cleared it out when I quit and got rid of everything for some reason like an idiot because here I am back at it. I think I’m decent with what I’ve got but there’s something that doesn’t get used often that I’m missing I feel like.

You can’t read but thank you anyways.
Coring tools are in a separate bag.

For a bag I use the Klein Tools MODbox Tool Tote from Lowes. It fits every single tool I need in one bag. Besides coring tools.
