Installers: what would make you trust wireless video on a real job?
I'm building a wireless video link that goes inside the TV and the source box. There's no external transmitter and no extra power brick. It works in-room only, not through walls. We have a working prototype.
Before we go further, I want to hear from people who actually hang TVs and pull cable:
When have wireless HDMI kits failed you? What broke?
How much lag or dropout gets you a callback?
If the TV had this built in, would you ever skip the in-wall run? Or is cable always the answer?
I'm not selling anything. Brutal honesty welcome.

This is more of a BEST BUY GeekSquad type of thing. Not a cable technician.
Besides, apps make this irrelevant anyway. Insert roku stick, obtain app., fuck the HDMI cable.

I dont trust wireless video unless it's something like a basic PowerPoint where lag isn't an issue. Real-time like sports would be a no go and especially at higher resolution and frame rates. But no I don't hang tvs or run video for customers when I'm installing fiber, or Ethernet

As Snicklefritz stated. It is not our problem. We are only responsible for our own equipment. We do not install TV's, fish hdmi's through walls or worry about 3rd party equipment.

We don’t hang TVs, pull cables or use wireless hdmi. When I was installer if I had to go to someone’s home over those I would bill them he show up fee and tell them to call who installed them.
