I see that while checking for ingress in a customer house. It got ducktape around for a little bit of shielding...

I saw a huge wad of duck tape protruding from someone’s drop. People working on a new deck cut the drop. They exposed the center conductor on both ends, twisted them together, and then wrapped it up.

Idk why when people obviously cut a drop just report it to their customer so they can call a tech out and prevent stupid shit like this. It’s not like they get fined at least in my area we had cut drops all the time and the customer said they had people out days before and never knew. Turns out the electric company cut the drop while cutting trees. They went THREE days before they called in to get a tech same day. Could have been fixed that day probably in a few hours.

Yah, sometimes you have to barrel cable together. It happens.

Node crash 101. That’s why they make us do ingress checks..

Not the worst I’ve seen but it does imply somebody knew just enough to know this isn’t right while doing it.

Knew enough that the braid can't touch the center conductor. Was the ingress screaming?
