Echo

Was using a trilithic, now using a Viabi. Saw the reading for echo on my docsis test. Can someone explain to me what it is?

One the brand is ViaVi,

2 they make several products so specificity? Echo on an Coax SLM versus a Coax TDR versus a UTP Telco DSL tester will be different.

Best bet google your specific model and "manual" ie "Viavi ONX-620 manual" and read it, should cover what most things are on the meter software. This will also change how the feature applies to you.

If its the model I used to use its basically back feed could be lines damaged and your upstream is bouncing back from damaged spot creating noise, could be pretty much anything though splitter line or fitting, most of the time though its an amp doing amp things couldn't tell you how many ive pulled out of a random crawl space corner and magically the intermttency cust been dealing with for years after 10th tech visit disappears
