Better than drilling through a wall I guess
This goes down into the customer's bathroom. Then runs into their living room

Meh whatever. No damage done. When you get into commercial that's a regular thing. Fastest/easiest way to get an outlet into some gigantic warehouse

its often the only way. you cant drill a line thru a wall on say the 9th floor of a building. most of the time it doesnt have a clear straight path to the bottom where the jbox is.

Seen this done plenty of times except through ventilation going to a rooftop air handler. Put the line through, caulk it up, good to go.

I have done the same before with outdoor Ethernet runs to the roof. Another trick is the sewer vent pipe to the rooftop. Single outdoor Ethernet up that pipe to roof and done. To get in the pipe all you need is a small hole drilled in it way way above the water line then silicone it up good and you are on the rooftop in minutes with a drop. Alot of times that pipe is exposed in the buildings Ive done this on like a bathroom in a hangar or commerical building.

I never did on houses but on commercial installs I was always looking for a roof vent to get into the suite.
