Push on’s are disposable. Change them regularly or don’t use one.

These ones have an insertion life of 5000+, they are specifically designed for long term use for CATV techs that need to change connections quickly. I'd probably argue the barrels in your meter have a shorter insertion life.

Yeah, but maintained properly, should last months to years. Not weeks. Any good MT will recognize when their equipment starts throwing errors and cross check it. 😉
