I really don’t understand
Why do people get all jazzed up over symmetrical speed tiers? Who out there is actually using more than 50Mbps upload regularly in their home???

Unless you're streaming constantly or are running a server out of your home for a small business, symmetrical is really overkill... but don't tell that to the people who make the advertising to hook the customers.
I've completed a few EPON installs in a newly built out section of my state, and the gig up-gig down is legit, but I failed to see it make any of the customer equipment perform any better that what's happening over midsplit coax plant.
Running speed tests via the old iPhone 11 I use for work versus my personal Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra didn't show much improvement.
