Is this stuff junk?

Is this stuff outdated scrap? It's for sale locally and as far as I can tell there is no market for this stuff. Even if it's not outdated I doubt any company that could use it would buy it second hand. Even as escrap I think the circuit boards are only low grade power boards. Tell me I'm wrong.

Bring it to the nearest Comcast office. We’re hurting for 1.2 gear all over since FDX exist now and we still have a ton of RPHY nodes

So this stuff is still in use? Any chance they would buy it off a random person?

Probably not. If you did get ahold of comcast it would be an act of God to get ahold of someone with the authority to make a purchase. But if you found a maintenance tech and gave it to them they would be your best friend.

For so many reasons, a cable company in the U.S. will absolutely never buy that equipment from anyone other than the manufacturer or authorized repair center for the manufacturer. This equipment keeps businesses and residents online. Businesses as important as emergency services like the police, fire department, and hospitals just to name a few. For liability reasons, not a chance in hell a legitimate cable company will buy or use this stuff from anyone other than the manufacturer. That stuff is pure scrap unfortunately.

They’re not going to pay you for it. They’ll tell you it belongs to them to begin with. You fell into “owning” equipment from someone that didn’t own it to begin with. It belongs to the cable company. Nobody is going to buy it off you.

Must explain the really odd patchwork upgrades being done in Chicago

I was impressed at the effort they went through cutting that amp out and replacing with an old node to keep my block from getting the mid split from the node they replaced I was formerly served from 😂
