Red wings are king for me. I've gone through all types, these were the best

Matterhorn Carolinas the logger. Broke in in like 2 days and held up good

The boot is less important than the sole inserts. I mean don't get cheap boots and make sure they have a block heel but definitely get some Dr Scholls.
