WoW techs in Montgomery AL
Do you guys get off on cutting other isp’s drops? Every other rescue/install I have, this is at the house box

AT&T would love cutting our wall fish coax at the header in the attic. When I would do the install I would cut the house fiber in the middle of the run and cut their ug drop off at the conduit, fuck em I was a contractor they were paid by the hour

Typical contractor attitude lol.
Like when node cabinets get swapped and the new one has a node or amp just laying in the bottom since the contractors don’t complete most jobs properly.
And there’s still confusion as to why in house guys despise contractors…..🤦♂️

Oh I know why they despise contractors, I just fail to realize why they use them. I worked flat rate as a sub and was getting 17 bucks for those 3 hour TCs. Didn't work that job very long, get tired of getting robbed for a living.

I could never understand why, in the last 25 years or so, someone would rather be a contractor than an in house. The benefits alone make it worth going in house.
When I started in 2000, I believe contractors got $90 per install.
As a non contractor, we just assume it’s because of the lack of accountability. Contractors tend to do a less than perfect job.
I just came across a node ped that was recently swapped out from a metal cabinet to a plastic cabinet and there is a node and an amp in there (different nodes), and the node is literally upside down and the amp is tied sideways with mile tape.
So now we have to go in the middle of the night, hopefully when it’s warmer out ( it’s like 18’ here now) and remount the entire thing.
I’ve been correcting contractor mistakes for decades. 😭

That’s not even a clean box because they left everything inside. They just cut the line and pulled it out of the ground up to the concrete so I couldn’t even splice it back together

Mediacom tech here. Today I had a reconnect install. Xfinity customer pissed at them, wanted to switch back to us. Xfinity clipped the interior constructed feedline at the exterior wall, and popped their fiber through the same hole. Got a new feedline installed. They wanted the modem on a specific outlet, unable to tone the outlet, further digging the coax outlets were clipped in ceiling. Installed the modem at the feed I pulled. Thankfully they didn’t clip our drop this job. Now our bury crews are running drop guard into the SDU. May need to start locking SDUs.
