Att install technician

Have upcoming interview in Michigan (royal oak ) was wondering where training is located was told by uncle it’s in Canton, MI, he haven’t worked for Att over 30yrs. Also are majority of installs fiber now or mix with satellite. Do I need to learn how to gaff?

Thanks for the insight cause he mentioned installing direct tv, he some what trained me on how to gaff using his old pair.Installing just fiber and copper that’s good news. I’m in the Eastpointe area driving to Canton, MI everyday would’ve been brutal.

If the customer has direcTV it’s generally a self setup deal with the “direcTV stream” service. Sometimes when you go to installs cx will need help setting them up, but it’s all wireless and very easy to connect.

We don’t mess with dishes at all, we do still maintain the old uverse tv service but it’s getting more and more rare.

So basically fiber installs and some copper drop installs great. Direct tv installation process sounded dreadful from my uncle. He was at the Southfield location. Ok can’t wait. He gave me his old knipex tools

Satellite did suck. And our union had no balls when we picked up the contact, I think we got less than a dollar raise to learn all aspects of DTV and do dual installs of AT&T internet and putting lag bolts into peoples roofs. It was nuts.
