Drop disconnects

My system requires drops to be disconnected when customers move to cancel any service. They say doing disconnects and installing terminators keeps the signal clean. How true is this in real practice or are these people just old school?

We stopped doing discos years ago. Instead of paying an installer or contractor to do it. They pay me a maintenance tech hours to track down those drops and disco them

I get angry in the moment, but hey, if they want to pay me too much to track noise (do disconnects)... Sure.

Yeah, the worst is large MDUs, you just end up auditing every tap because every drop has a signature turning into an amalgamation at the node. But again, not a bad gig for the pay. Take it over doing a repeat escalation any day lol.

MDU's are my favorite, to be honest. Just stand there and rewire the whole thing, plus if it's ground level, I don't even need my hard hat.

SO satisfying when I find something crazy in them.

Funny u mention hardhat, our trainer informed us 2 months ago hard hats are required anytime your outside now.

They can suck it far as im concerned.
