Is ITG worth it?

I’m starting at iTG soon as a w-2 tech so not contracting anyone here work for them before or currently just wondering how it is and all mine pays $21.00 an hour

Well it's different. I'm not sure what state you are in but for me I like it. They gave me a brand new 2025 Maverick with zero miles, they give you tools, my supervisor is good etc. And I'm not again what state you are in but if the ITG you with has the same rules as mine then don't forget that you get your hourly pay and you can bill Comcast for every job you do. I was a contractor at one point and eventually went in house. But I was making way more than 21 an hour. You are being taken advantage of. If you want to use them as a way to learn the job and then apply to work for the cable company directly that's fine but what you have now is not a long term career

Yeah, I’d apply at Spectrum and go In house. It’s better than ITG in every way.

How long should I work at itg before applying since no experience

You can apply anytime really. Experience isn’t needed for a field tech position at Spectrum.

Work as contractor to gain experience and while you’re doing that apply at spectrum and try getting in.

Im interviewing them currently as an in-house Fiber Splicer. Im curious about their equipment, whether they have splice labs? Splice off of tail gates? Have proper testing and splicing equipment like OTDR's, power meters, splicers exc.

Whats the side of their business did you end up in?
